During holiday gift giving season and throughout the year, the wristwatch is a reliable gift choice for the men on your list. Over the past two years, I've written dozens of reviews of affordable men's watches and I'm still amazed at the quality and variety of watches available for under $50. Here are five watches that offer great value for $50 or less:
1. Casio Edifice (AV-305) Men's Analog Watch with Subdials. The Casio Edifice line of watches is the flagship brand foe Casio analog watches. In there high end trim, the offer cool features like solar power, atomic clock synchronization, and multiple motors to drive subdials. However, you can get a Casio Edifice (Model AV-305) at Walmart for just under $50. This watch looks great, has an all stainless steel case, and has subdials to tell the day and date. This watch competes well with watches costing twice the price.
2. Casio Pathfinder Hunting Timer Digital Watch - The Casio Pathfinder series of watch has many amazing features at the higher end of the line. But, the regular Casio Pathfinder Hunting Timer can tell you the best times for hunting or fishing. It's also a good buy for around $40. If you have an outdoorsman on your Christmas list, the Casio Pathfinder might be the perfect gift.
3. Timex Weekender Analog Watch - Imagine you live in New England, spend summers at a cottage on a beach or lake. Can you picture someplace between Golden Pond and the Hamptons? Now picture your wrist, the Timex Weekender is probably the watch you are wearing. It is the perfect mix of preppy style and function. While it makes you feel like a member of the privileged elite, it costs less than $50.
4. Timex Expedition Metal Tech Analog Watch - The Timex Expedition Watch series spans a variety of models and price points. However, if you are looking for a respectable Christmas gift, the Timex Expedition Metal Tech for Men is a very dressy version of the Expedition with a supple, but slightly small, leather strap. It's a very nice watch for $50.
5. Timex Ironman Triathlon Digital Watch - If you are an athlete or have an athlete on your Christmas list, the Timex Ironman-series of watches may have your perfect watch. The Timex Ironman has many stopwatch/lap timer functions, a more streamlined body than the Casio G Shock, and a price under $50.
If $50 is your Christmas or Birthday gift price point, there are plenty of great watches available. Just search for "wristwatch review" on Yahoo Contributors Network for more reviews and pictures.
