Five Great Places to Take a Date

Does Date Planning Have You Stumped?

Deciding on where to go on a date can be very stressful to someone planning the event. After all, the wrong place could interfere with a couple really connecting, thus ending the date on a bad note. One should try to be creative with date planning, but not go too out there. The most important thing about a date is that two people get together, have fun and become acquainted in the process. The following are five great places to take a date:

1. Dinner and a Movie- This is not a cliché, it really is a good standby to have for a date. The reason dinner and a movie are among the five great places to take a date is because this scenario offers two things: fun, in the form of a movie and intimacy, in the form of two people breaking bread and getting to know each other. The trick, however, may be deciding on which movie to see. One should consult his/her date about what movie the date would like to watch.

2. Amusement Park- Amusement parks aren't just for children and families. In fact, a carnival or large amusement park is an exciting place for two people to go on a date. Romance is all over an amusement park if one thinks about it. A guy may want to win a stuffed animal for a girl or hold her when she's scared on a ride. Throw in a tunnel of love and the amusement park could be the hottest of the five great places to take a date.

3. Dancing- Depending on the age and style of the couple, a dance club or jazz club may be a great place to take a date. Older couples can even find places to ballroom dance, should they be interested in an old-fashioned kind of date. Dancing is fun, it is great exercise and it is a prime opportunity to become more intimate with a date. It may be wise, however, to ask one's date if he/she is even interested in dancing. Some people are a bit too shy for that kind of thing or worse, were born with two left feet.

4. Concert- Music brings people together and often, two people with a lot in common also enjoy the same kind of music. Whether one is interested in the symphony or a rock band, a musical concert is one of the five great places to take a date. However, those who plan on enjoying a loud rock concert together may wish to also have a quiet dinner. Otherwise, the date may lose all intimacy.

5. Play- While dinner and a movie may seem like the old-fashioned route for a date, people once went out for dinner and a live show. The theatre is still a great place for two people to enjoy themselves. Some may enjoy more upscale fair, such as the opera. However, young couples should know that there are many interesting and hip productions at the theatre. Interpretational dance or just an edgy play would be a great place to take a date.

One shouldn't over plan for a date. Too many things crammed into one evening may leave the couple exhausted and without the opportunity to really talk to one another. Instead, one should choose one of the above five great places to take a date. Some are obvious places that work for everyone and others may be something one has never considered before. As always, one should keep one's date in mind and try to choose something that both will enjoy together. Dates should be fun, after all, not a stressful event.

Plays definitely have worked for me. I used to work for a theater and had to see the shows (for free) as part of my job description in college.
