Five Great Ways to Get the Best Use Out of Your Child's Clothes

S. Morris
Have noticed how fast your kid's grow? Well to me they seem to grow faster than weeds. Their clothes just seem to shrink! So instead of just throwing out the clothes that are still wearable, try these tips. I have five great ways here to help with this.

Take Old Clothes To The Thrift Store

I have found this to be a good way to keep gently used clothes in use. I found a local store to be a great place to go. Second Time Around, lets you bring items in and open a store credit account. Basically your recycling clothes and getting to swap old for new. What a great way to save and save gently used clothes!

Pass them On To Your Younger Children

If you have more than one child of a different gender, you can pass them on. I don't think you should not ever by a pair of new clothes, but you should only do that once and a while. A great way to save your money and save nice clothes. Great for a family with a lot of siblings!

Put The Clothes In Your Next Yard Sale

Have a yard sale and put all the out grown, gently used items in it. Sale for fifty cents to a dollar. You could even pair them up to outfits and price at one dollar to four dollars. There you can earn some extra money for new clothes and your passing on gently used clothes.

Donate To A Homeless Shelter Or Charity

Find a local shelter or charity to donate to. There are also other places such as; churches, WIC offices, etc. Your donation will help others tremendously and be greatly appreciated!

Cut And Make Clothes

A good way, a favorite of mine I started, is to make clothes. Cut down, out grown clothes, for the nice coming weather. I take my children's pants that are to small or have faded knees and cut them into shorts for the upcoming Spring and Summer months. Cutting down long sleeves to make tank tops and short sleeved shirts is also a great way to get prepared for up coming warm weather. You can hem up the bottoms or leave them cut with a ruff edge. I love it and it saves me money on summer clothes.

Try these five tips and you will feel good once you have saved some money and helped recycle clothes. But mostly you have helped your children as they grow!
