Five Holiday Gift Ideas for the 'Glee' Fan in Your Life

James Hamel
No matter what year it is you can always rely on the fact that last minute Christmas shopping will always be a harried, hectic and somewhat traumatizing affair. So to keep your pain down to a minimum it is best to know exactly what you are looking for when you embark on a shopping excursion. You just have to keep in mind what this special someone really enjoys and go from there.

Now, if this is a person that you want to keep in your life there is little doubt that they are anything short of a truly hardcore fan of the TV-show "Glee." Why do I make this assumption? Because only a person who deserves coal in their stocking would openly say they wouldn't like a "Glee" related Christmas gift. See, was that so hard?

Ah, but what "Glee" Christmas present to give to your beloved "Gleek?" That is a whole other matter entirely because as this shows success has really taken off so has the marketing. During a recent trip I encountered some terrific (and really not so terrific) "Glee" related gifts perfect for the holidays. Enjoy!

Glee Karaoke Machine ($149.99)-If you really want a Karaoke machine there are better units out there. This is essentially a standard machine with one microphone, a CD-player (it comes with no "Glee" related music) and a bunch of "Glee" graphics. Really, you can live without this and if you think you can't buy a Wii and get the following game.

Glee Karaoke Revolution (Nintendo Wii Video Game: $49.95)-I am not sure how your Wii can judge bad singing but apparently you can select one of 35 songs from Season 1, pick a character and then sing into an extra cost microphone. There are multi-player and solo settings so you can decide if you do (or don't) want to torture your friends with this game.

Glee: The Beginning (An Original Novel)-($9.98): There are already a few titles out under this young adult line of teen fiction books. So, if you think your kid is watching too much "Glee" this may be your best chance at getting them to read something besides the side of their cereal box.

Glee Season 1 DVD ($37.99)-This is all that you really should need as a true fan of the pop culture phenomenon that we call "Glee." Without this brilliant first season there would be no Karaoke machines or a line of Rachel Berry lockable diary books where you can scribble down your latest lyrical inspiration. Yes, there is now a Rachel Berry diary but I am not telling you how much it is or where it is sold in hopes that no one will buy it.

Glee Volume 4 CD ($11.98)-All of the best music from the first half of Season 2 on one CD! Well, if you don't have a CD player you can always put it in your "Glee Karaoke Machine." Songs include "Teenage Dream," "Forget You," "Just the Way You Are," "Toxic," "The Only Exception," and Chris Colfer's winning take on The Beatles classic "I Want to Hold Your Hand."
