Five Homemade Halloween Costume Ideas for Cats

C.B. Jones
Here's an idea I wish I thought of when I was younger: Share the 4th greatest holiday in history of the world with a four legged member of my family. I know for a fact my dogs would have had no problem with letting my brother and I trick them out with strobe lights and such. Cats are different though. You almost have to trick them to get any type of production out of the poor things. Here are 5 easy, and hastily done Halloween costume ideas for cats.

Homemade Halloween Costume: Toonces, the Driving Cat.
If you're confident in your cat's motor skills and judgment, sit him/her down in a motorized toy car and let that fur ball drive around to all the houses in the neighbor hood. This shouldn't be too dangerous. Aside from side swiping a few kids, and ramming into some jack-o-lanterns every now and again, what's the worst that could happen?

Homemade Halloween Costume: Garfield's 4th cousin, Karjield.
Garfield is a cartoon feline who is known for being fat, lazy, hungry at all times, and only funny about 34% of the time. Karjield is essentially the same. Only real difference is, nobody knows what he looks like because I just came up with him. Anything that kinda sorta looks like a cat can play this role. No extra add ons or gimmicks required.

Homemade Halloween Costume: Octapussy.
No, this isn't a Bond Reference. Or, it isn't meant to be anyway. Yes, I realize there was a movie with the same name, but this has nothing to do with that film. Use pipe cleaners or twislers to give the illusion that your cat is some sort of deformed, and somewhat fruity mutant that enjoys grooming it's self and gnawing on it's own appendages.

Homemade Halloween Costume: Xzibit's cat.
Xzibit cat is a pretty simple concept. All you have to do is duct tape a push cat to a real one, then walk up to people and tell them what the rapper/tv personality did for you. In this case, you would say the following: Yo dawg! They heard I liked animals. So Xzibit put a cat on my cat, so I could pet a cat while I pet a cat!

Homemade Halloween Costume: Zarion.
Zarion is the name of a character I just made up a few minutes ago(or longer, depending on how long this article has been published). He is the unfortunate bearer of a malfunctioning invisibility cloak. All you need to do is get some velcro, and use it to secure a dishcloth to the back of your overly confident feline.
