Five Inexpensive Birthday Gift Ideas for Teenagers

Paul Register
In times when it seems that most gift ideas for teenagers are becoming further out of the price range of many people, it is good to know of a few options that routinely satisfy most teenagers. Here now are few gift ideas that will help reduce the anxiety of trying to find a gift that is suitable but easier on our pocketbooks. All the gifts would be potentially applicable to both boys and girls alike.

1. iTunes Gift Card

In most cases, music means everything to the average teenager. At their age, it helps to define who they are. Now in many cases, teenagers already own their own iPods with what seems to be an infinite amount of room to add to their playlist. By offering them an iTunes gift card, which can be purchased in $10, $25 and $50 increments at any Best Buy, the recipient will be ecstatic to decide what songs will now be added to their library. For the price, it is relatively inexpensive and a virtual cant miss.

2. Fossil Brand Watch

Thankfully most teenagers today can tell time. Also most teenagers today are fashionably conscious to some extent. With a Fossil brand watch, you can merge the two. Fossil offers a variety of styles and faces that are complimentary to almost any teenager's style. It may be beneficial to have a solid understanding of the teenager you are shopping for before purchasing a Fossil watch. With so many variances to choose from, they may like one particular look better than others. Fossil watches can be found at most jewelry stores, department stores or malls. They can range anywhere from $55 to $120. While it may be a little higher range of inexpensive gifts, it is the one where you get the most bang for your buck.

3. Fast Food Gift Card

Simple. Cheap. Easy. If you are looking for the quintessential inexpensive gift, the fast food gift card is one of the easiest ways to please almost any teenager. With increments as low as $5, you can escape overspending by providing a teenager with one thing they love ......FOOD. McDonalds, Burger King, and Taco Bell are just a few of the many options you have by going the fast food gift card route. This is a relatively informal gift so my advice would be to buy this option for acquaintances rather than intimate family members.

4. Event Tickets

This is the most arbitrary item on this list. Here you have the option of purchasing a sporting event that they would like to go to or a concert they would like to see. It all depends on whose playing, the artist and the venue. In some cases you would be able to get away with paying $25 dollars for their gift, in other cases it could be as high as $75 or $85. It just depends on who you are going to see. If a concert or a ballgame is something that they don't do very often, then the memories from their experience will pay dividend for years to come. If the teenager truly enjoys it, you'll never hear the end of it. Ticketmaster.com is the best online venue for purchasing event tickets.

5. CD Storage Case

In most cases, this is an easy gift to give for teenagers. Once again, most enjoy their music and other than on an iPod, some might need a place to store their music. There are many different styles and brands of CD cases, one of the premier makers is Vaultz. Vaultz cases are very durable and often times sell in a large storage capacity, up to 200 CDs per case. There are many places that you can obtain these. Stores like Target and Best Buy carry this particular brand. You will end up spending about $20 to $50 dollars on one of these cases but for the safety of their CDs its worth it.

Fast food gift certificates are a great idea! There's a Wendy's right aacross from the school so the kids go there all the time! Why didn't I think of that? ;-)

    Great ideas!
However, you can find CD cases for as low as $5 and hold 50 cds, and yes they are good quality and will last a long time.
