I was sitting here, watching as my husband wrestled around on the carpet with our boys wondering what to do for him this Father's Day that would include our two sons. One word came to mind: toys. All boys love their toys, whether they are grown up or not. So this Father's Day, I have compiled a list of toys that Daddy and kids alike will enjoy. These unique gifts will get Dad away from the T.V. and electronics and bonding with his children.
These gifts been the everyday, boring gifts that every Dad hopes to avoid. You won't see ties or gift certificates here!
-Remote-Controlled Vehicles
These toys can actually get on the very pricey side. I've seen some RC trucks go up to $400 or $500. This is an ideal gift if you know that your husband likes to off-road or is interested in cars. These toys are fun to run on hills and dirt tracks. Dad will like them because not only does he get to show off his mad RC skills, but when he takes the truck too far, he gets too "work" on it. Parts will break but half the fun of owning one of these toys is fixing it up.
-Musical Instruments
Guitars, drums and other musical instruments can be a unique and surprising gift for Dad. Even if Dad doesn't play or has never played an instrument, giving the gift of a guitar could be just the hobby he was looking for. If you shop around, you can get a beginner kit that comes with all the necessary equipment and how-to instructions.
-Outdoor Sports Equipment
Fishing poles, water skis, rafts, floats, or even gifts as large as jet skis could be ideal gifts with the summer peaking around the corner. These gifts could go from very low-end and cheap to very high-end and expensive.
-Camping Equipment
Is Dad the outdoor type? Men can always use another tent, sleeping bag or camping accessory that he can get excited about. I've seen camping equipment that was crucial for the outdoors and some that would just be for fun, like a bread toaster for over the fire.
-Guns
No, not necessarily real guns. Although, if the dad in question is a hunter or gun collector, a real gun might be something to consider. What I'm talking about are kid-friendly guns. Water guns, dart guns and every other kind of toy gun you would ever think of you can find in the toy department. If you are looking for something a little more grown up, you could pay a little more for a paint ball or blow gun.
