Five Luxury Hotels in Downtown Chicago

I love to go to the Windy City. Chicago is one of the most amazing cities in America. I have been to Chicago three times over the years and never tire of the energy and excitement that it provides. Chicago offers some of the best that our country has to offer visitors. Some of the best museums, food and shopping (Magnificent Mile) in the world can be found in downtown Chicago. A visit to Chicago would not be complete without staying in one of downtown's luxury hotels. The five following luxury hotels in Chicago are rated 4 or 5 stars and would be worth considering for your trip.

1) Conrad Chicago is located on the Magnificent Mile just off Michigan Avenue. They have 311 guest rooms and 33 suites. The views from the rooms are either of the Chicago skyline or of Lake Michigan. The rooms are no smaller than 400 sq. ft. and offer 500 thread count linens. Some of the other amenities are for the more technologically savvy with 42 in plasma screen tvs, Bose entertainment systems, ipod alarm clock, and wired or wireless internet connection to name a few. They offer several different places to dine without ever leaving the hotel if a guest chooses to stay in. Rooms range in price from aprox. $213 to $595.

2) Hilton Chicago hotel is overlooking Grant Park, Lake Michigan, Millennium Park and Museum Campus(the loop area). It is close to both the convention center and real close to shopping and the theater. The hotel has 1544 guest rooms including suites, is pet friendly, and has an indoor pool. Some of the amenities are: 250 thread count linens, 27 in flat screen tv, alarm clock with mp3 connectivity, wired and wireless internet, and availability of a playstation game system. They have several dining options on the premises including an authentic irish pub as well as casual dining. Room rates are aprox. $162 to $534.

3) Hyatt Regency Chicago is on the Magnificent Mile and is connected to Illinois Center. They have 2,019 guestrooms and suites. Many of the rooms offer a view of the skyline. The rooms have contemporary decor with a 37 in plasma tv, iHome alarm clock, in room coffee maker and Wireless & High-speed DSL Internet access (fee). If guests wish to eat in, this hotel has 6 different dining options ranging from breakfast to after dinner: Stetson's Chop House, The BISTRO At 151,Pronto Mama's Italian Kitchen, DaddyO's Pub and Piano Bar, BIG Bar and J's Express. The rooms are aprox. $161-689.

4) Omni Chicago Hotel is located within the heart of the Magnificent Mile. They have 347 suites that range in size from 400 sq ft to over 1300 sq ft that have skyline views. The amenities include a fully stocked refreshment center, wet bar, plasma tv, in room coffee maker, alarm clock with mp3 connectivity, refrigerator upon request(fee), robes, umbrellas and a pool. Guests can also dine in at 676 Restaurant and Bar overlooking Michigan Avenue. Fees range from $208 ti $529 approximately.

5) Swissotel Chicago is between the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. It is close to both the Navy Pier and The Magnificent Mile. They have 632 rooms and suites that have either skyline views or views of Lake Michigan. The rooms vary from classic lake view rooms that have marble bathrooms with separate showers, mini bar and coffee maker to rooms designed with kids in mind with play areas, crafts and dvds. They offer a pool and fitness center in the penthouse(fee), 2 onsite restaurants and lounge. The rooms range in price from $229 to $919 approximately.

    I love visiting Chicago. I personally like the Swissotel better than the Hyatt Regency, but both are very nice.
