Avoid Bacteria: Wipe the Wand
A lot of people do not realize that their health might actually be in stake when applying makeup. The reason for this is because of the bacteria that gets into the product then breeds bacteria in the tube until you use it again, then apply to your face. For example, if you have just eaten a meal, then apply lip gloss, your wand can pick up tiny particles as it applies gloss on your lips. As your wand enters the tube, the food gets stuck in the gloss forever. The way to best avoid this is to wipe the wand clean after each use. That way it reenters the tube nice and clean.
Use a Primer
No matter what type of foundation you use, whether it be mineral makeup, liquid foundation or anything else, you need primer. Our face can have patches of dry spots, oily spots, flaky skin, creases and wrinkles. These all become hot spots for makeup to settle and appear, making your face look cakey and aged. You can avoid this by simply applying primer before your foundation.
Don't Use Baby Oil!
Many use baby oil as a means of removing eye makeup and makeup. Baby oil is made from petroleum which is back, gaseous crude oil. Your face deserves better! Baby oil can also break down the proteins in your eyelashes over an extended period of use. If you want to use a homemade alternative, simply use extra virgin olive oil. It is nourishing for the skin and removes makeup easily.
No Chapped Lips
Chapped lips are simply unattractive. Exfoliate those lips using a damp washcloth with only water. You can also use a wet, soft, clean toothbrush and gently rub your lips. Doing this step before applying lipstick when you have chapped lips will ensure that your lipstick looks smooth and flawless. Otherwise, your lipstick will look flaky and unattractive.
Fuller Lips
Did you know you can give the illusion of fuller lips without cosmetic surgery, expensive products or even a lip plumper that stings your lips? It's all about creating the illusion through color. For this trick you'll need two lip products. The first is a matte lip color in the shade you desire. The second one should be a gloss and be a shade lighter than the first. Apply the matte lipstick as usual then dab the lighter gloss on the center portion of the top lip and bottom lip. This will give a 3D effect, making your lips look fuller than they really are.
