Five Memorable 'American Idol' Michael Jackson Tributes

June 25 marks the second anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, which means it's time for mega- remembrances and tributes to the late King of Pop. It's also time for a look back at some past Michael Jackson tributes.

While Jackson's music has been featured on FOX's "American Idol" many times (on this season's finale the Top 13 even performed a medley of his songs ), some performances are more memorable than others.

Here's a look at five "American Idol" Michael Jackson tributes.

"Black or White"- Adam Lambert (Season 8). Back in Season 8, just about everything runner-up Adam Lambert did was memorable. So when he took on this classic song during the show's Michael Jackson week, it really stood out (some of Lambert's competition that night included Scott McIntyre performing the obscure "Keep the Faith" and Lil Rounds singing "The Way You Make Me Feel"). Glambert showed them all up with his performance of "Black or White," causing Simon Cowell to declare that his performance was "in a totally different league" from all of the others that night.

"Billie Jean"- David Cook (Season 7). Always looking to change up a song arrangement, "American idol" winner David Cook offered up a riveting performance of Jackson's "Billie Jean" back in Season 7. Sure, he copied Chris Cornell's version of the song, but so what? It was one of the best "Idol" performances that season, hands down.

"Earth Song"- Haley Reinhart (Season 10). The judges didn't love Reinhart's performance of this Michael Jackson classic -- except for the rarely-critical Steven Tyler, who gave us a head scratcher by saying "it wasn't a hit song," but that Reinhart "nailed it" (Randy Jackson dissed Tyler's musical knowledge, saying, "It was definitely a hit song!") Still, who can forget Reinhart's screamy, throaty vocals as she desperately tried to sing for her supper? Add to that that this is one of Jackson's most beautiful songs ever--and it fit in with the show's "inspirational" theme that week.

"Rockin' Robin" Megan Joy Corkrey (Season 8). Fans either loved this performance or hated it, but no one can deny that it was memorable. Unfortunately the song may have showcased Corkrey's quirkiness more than it showcased her vocals.

"Will You Be There"- Michael Lynche (Season 9). So this song, from the "Free Willy" soundtrack, resulted in Big Mike's demise back on Season 9's "Songs From the Cinema" theme week. Fair enough. But Crystal Bowersox got to stay after singing the "Caddyshack" theme song?
