Five Places You Can Blog On

Lauramarie
A blog is a Web page which is frequently updated with content. It can be based on your personal thoughts, opinions, ideas or interests. There are many millions of blogs and indeed bloggers online. Blogging has become a way of life and a way to earn an income for many. Money is made through advertising revenue and the sale of affiliate products. Some blogs may not earn a single cent while others are mega successful and are pulling in thousands each and every month.

There are several sites which will host your blog meaning it is free and all you have to worry about is uploading fresh content. There is no better site and indeed bloggers use a variety of sites to satisfy their needs.

1) Blogger

This is an excellent site for beginners, and with it you get a domain name ending in blogspot.com. Blogger comes with a variety of templates which you are free to browse and preview until you get the one you want, or additionally you can upload a template you have obtained from elsewhere. HTML widgets, link lists, photographs, youtube videos and a variety of other extras can be placed on blogger blogs.

2) Wordpress

Wordpress is a very popular blogging network and it is also the most commonly selected network for the numerous paid blogging sites such as today.com, and orble.com. There are a range of templates and plug ins to suit everyone's needs.

3) Today.com

Today.com is a paid blogging site which pays you $1 per 100 word blog post and $2 per 1000 unique page views. However if your blog is not up to scratch and does not receive enough targeted traffic you may be stripped of the $1 per blog post. The site also has an attractive referral scheme where you are paid $5 per active referral after they have written their first 10 blog posts. Generous blogger awards are also presented on a monthly basis for the top bloggers. The payout is set rather high at $50 but if you write a quality blog post every other day and gain traffic you could make payout easily every two months.

4) Getpaidfrom.us

Getpaidfrom.us is another paid blogging site launched in early 2008 which gains its revenue from google adsense, and splits 50% of the total revenue with bloggers depending on their traffic and popularity. It is rather hard to make money from this site and your blog must be consistently in the top spots to make any decent amount of money. However the site is constantly making improvements and the easy navigation and daily traffic stats make this site worth a go.

5) Orble

Orble is a relatively new site which pays users 50% of their Google revenue. If your blog gains a substantial amount of exposure then orble may purchase and host a.com domain name for you. Additionally orble has a great social networking aspect where you can view, vote and comment on other users blogs. There is a mentor scheme where you and recruit new users to orble and earn 10% of their Google Adsense revenue. Orble emails users their traffic stats daily including click readers, which refers to readers who have clicked an ad or other link on your blog. Out of all the blogging sites orble remains my favorite.

Wherever you blog if you use keywords with little competition, create quality posts, and upload fresh content regularly you are sure to see some money from blogging. Different bloggers prefer and do better with different sites; the choice is yours.
