Five Places in the U.S. Where Adults Can Party on Halloween

Party on Halloween at These U.S. Locations

As for most things, you can travel far away or stay at home and check around for the fun things to do. Go online or ask the locals. Have fun, and be careful of the ghosts and goblins, whatever you choose to do.

New Orleans:
If you love piano bars, I'd go to Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. People from all over the world end up there and if it's really crowded you might double up with someone you don't know. We did and it was the best Halloween ever. Some people came in costumes - some not. I'd go anytime from early evening on and you will enjoy.

Washington D.C.:
We spent another fun Halloween in Washington, D.C. Sorry I don't remember the bar, but just about everyone came in costume. Look around for sort of a hole in the wall - and maybe that's it. The bartender was great and the people were so friendly. Drinks were a little high, but there was enough to keep us entertained until early in the morning.

Nashville:
Once again, I don't recall the name of the bar, but as usual in Nashville there were signed pictures of country singers - old timers and new faces - hung throughout the bar. All evening entertainers that we knew came in and out. Some would sing a few songs and be on their way. The naughty little Halloween ditties were just the best.
It was located not far from the Grand Ole Opry Hotel.

Paton, Iowa:
Now this is a little town of 250 and the main night time attraction is Gimpy's Bar and Grill. Be certain, the drinks will not be costly! Most likely, you won't see many in costume, but you'll see all kinds of jeans and flannel shirts and boots. The boots may have been walkin' in places you don't want to think about - like the barn yard! You can have a great time with a $5 hamburger and the number of Bud Lites of your choice.

Des Moines:
Go right downtown to Court Avenue and you'll have a great and entertaining evening. There are several bars in that area, so you could do a little bar hopping or just find a seat somewhere and people watch! Most any kind of food is available for the going rate and drinks are mid-range in price. Parking could be somewhat of a hassle, but maybe it would do you good to walk a bit before you try to drive home.

Take a designated driver with you - and then you take over for them another time. Pay for their gas and food and they'll be happy.

Believe me, it is 99 percent of your attitude and if you think you're going to have a good time and allow yourself to party - you will have a great Halloween Night.
