Five Reasons to Blog

To Blog or Not to Blog

Judilynn
Blogging has become epidemic on the internet. Everyone seems to either have a blog or a myspace or both. What is the fascination? At this point in the conversation I should state to you that I do indeed have both, a blog and a myspace. Now I have always kept a diary. Yes, I know, I was one of those. The classic example of the teen age girl pouring her heart out in a diary that is pink and fuzzy and has a lock on it that the girl wears on a chain around her neck. That was me. So it seemed like a natural progression to get hooked on blogging when it started. But what about all these other people out there that blog? What about the people that put their hearts and souls out in their blogs? They put every little detail of their lives. They put their innermost feelings up on the internet for anyone to read. What is up with that?

Well I have my own theories about this. I recently read an article on why not to blog. It had in it all these things about how your words were out there forever, and that anyone could read it. How the internet was starting to fill up with useless inner workings of the human mind. I have a bit of a different take on the whole thing. Here are my reasons to blog. Pay attention. Get yourself a drink, sit back and enjoy.

Reason number five to blog - Think of the anonymity! You could write a blog your own mother could read, and never know it was you! What a great thing. You could say things you would never say as yourself and no one would know! All you have to do is sign up for a free email and use that for a free blog and you are in business.

Reason number four to blog - We all need a place to vent. A place we have found to just get everything off our chest. Need someplace to just let it all go? A bog is a great place to do that. You can have a private blog that only you have access to and you can vent all you want to. It would be like a blog cleansing.

Reason number three to blog - Let your creative brain work. Writing is a creative process. Some of us don't get much of a chance to use that very often. A blog is a wonderful place to do that. You decide what to write about, how much and what style. You can be as creative or as dull as you want your choice, but you are still doing something creating that blog.

Reason number two to blog - We all need one more addiction in our lives. Blogging is very addictive. Once you get into sitting down every day and writing it is an addiction and you need your daily fix. And with coffee and chocolate it isn't like we don't have enough addictions around us.

The number one reason to blog - Because everyone else is doing it. And I do mean everyone. We live in a keep up with the Jones world, and this is just another example. So if none of the other reasons appeal to you, doesn't this one? I mean really, don't you know Ms Smith down the road has a blog and you would just hate for her to out do you wouldn't you?
