Five Romantic Engagement Ideas for Valentine's Day 2009

D. Youworld
Valentine's Day is coming and of course it's a popular time to pop the big question.

According to the U.S Census Bureau Valentine's Day is one of most popular times to get engaged second only to Christmas.

1. A good one that I came up with is to make plans to go out to eat at her favorite restaurant and maybe catch a show then at the last minute cancel everything. Tell her that you're terribly sick and give her the impression when you speak to her over the phone a sense of genuine worry. Ask her if she can come over to spend a little bit of time at your place and tell her that you're not sure if you should go to the hospital. (I know I'm cruel) Meanwhile you should have a love nest set up at your place her favorite food a bottle of wine candles and soft romantic music. When she gets to your house answer the door in a robe (Of course you'll be dressed under the robe).

Don't say anything have a blank face and lead her in your house, when she walks in your love nest and see's the candles and the food look into her eyes, smile take off the robe. Tell her from the bottom of your heart you want to spend your life with her, get on one knee and propose.

2. Proposing in a restaurant is an ok choice especially if it's one of the places you've gone to when you first started dating. When the waiter comes out and serves your bride to be a ring on a plate instead of food, or a ring on the bottom of the champagne glass it would be a romantic and unforgettable moment. But don't you want to think a little bit out of the box?

3. How about making all the plans in the evening as usual then right before you go to meet up, call her and tell her to come down to the police station pronto when she gets there be ready to pop the question.

Then after words going off on that romantic dinner that's what I call thinking out of the box. I'm sure you can stand in the waiting area without bothering anyone at the station, if anyone asks what you're doing just tell them that you're proposing to your girlfriend maybe they'll even help you out.

4. Try to do something that defines your relationship as a couple if you both like rock music then visit a place with a live band. Have a talk with the musicians' maybe they can do a ballad in the middle of the concert with your proposal that is sure to be something that will never be forgotten.

5. Some people are traditional when it comes to marriage proposals, ask for her parents hand in marriage before having the family present to pop the big question. Get her parents to help you set up a reunion with the rest of her family. Remember to let the reunion go on for awhile before getting on one knee as stated by Sara Fox at getacoder.com.

On most occasions flashy proposals are to appease the man not his mate a lady wants the ring on her finger not a guy scratching his head deciding on where to propose. This is mentioned in the book Instant Persuasion: How to Change Your Words to Change Your Life by Laurie Puhn. Well guys now lets go over the 3 B's of proposal be creative, be yourself, be prepared, (just in case she says no) good luck.
