Five Romantic Night Life Experiences at Burnt Store Marina, Florida for Lovers

Sheri Fresonke Harper
Our first introduction to Burnt Store Marina in Florida, a resort for the sailing and golf community was at night. This is perhaps the reason I found the nights magical and perfect for lovers. Romance burned under the soft marina lights and starry nights. So what's so romantic about Burnt Store Marina and what are the things to do? Whether you dine, have a cappuccino tete-a-tete, take a romantic walk, dance, swim or watch the stars, these five night life activities and photographs may be the things to do that justify a week or month long stay at Burnt Store Marina with your lover.

Take a Lover's Walk Along the Burnt Store Marina Waterfront

[ see photograph 1]

The marina is a beautiful place to take a walk at night and one of the first things to do you should consider. Starting from the Porto Bello restaurant, visitors can walk along a sidewalk, across piers, through a gravel parking lot, over grass, and onto the semicircular walkway that goes clear around the bay at Burnt Store Marina. It sounds a bit complicated but the truth is if you and your lover wear deck shoes, you have no trouble experiencing the night life such as raccoons and armadillos that comes rustling out from underneath well lit palm trees. On one side of the Burnt Store Marina waterfront, the trail continues up the canal and a return through the housing neighborhood can be as fun when you hold hands with your lover.

Watch the Stars, Moon or Eclipse with your Lover at Burnt Store Marina

When we stayed at Burnt Store Marina, we were lucky enough to be there at the time of an eclipse of the moon. Moon eclipses last several hours, so there's plenty of time to watch the moon with your lover while the surface slowly reddens and you sip wine. The clear night skies over the gulf are also good for watching the stars come out and if your idea of night life starts alone and cuddly, this makes a perfect choice.

Dine and Dance at the Porto Bello Restaurant at Burnt Store Marina with your Lover

The Porto Bello restaurant has two places to dine, one on an open deck complete with bamboo furniture and the other indoors with a formal atmosphere perfect for late night seduction over your favorite taste treats. Try one of their lighter meals followed by a seductively rich dessert while you watch the lights of sunset dance over the bay. On weekends, the restaurant often offers a band for dancing along with a buffet.

Have a Cozy Conversation at Piagelli's Deli with Your Lover over Chocolate and Cappuccino

[See Photograph 2]

Piagelli's Deli is the perfect place to relax after a fun day of fishing, birding, golfing, swimming or rattling through one of the many wildlife reserves in the area. Besides super-sized deli sandwiches, find all of your favorite sins from chocolates, coffee, wine and ice cream. Cozy nook tables allow you to watch the twinkles from the sailboats shine on the bay.

Take a Languorous Swim with Your Lover at Burnt Store Marina

The pool may be small in some accommodations at the Burnt Store Marina but it is perfectly sized to paddle, cuddle and cool off in the evening heat. Night time is often a great time to swim because you can remove all the built up tension and heat from the day while playing tugboat with your partner as they float under the starry night.
