Five Spiffy Green Gadgets

Green gadgets are more than trendy doo-dads that ward off global warming. They can reduce landfill expansion, deforestation, and pollution. They save money while making daily activities less time consuming. The coolness factor of the following green gadgets surpasses their ability to stave off global warming in that they are efficient means to make life a little less complicated (and expensive).

Enviroplug: The Enviroplug is an energy saving mobile phone adapter that stops charging the cell phone once it's fully charged. Overcharging a cell phone can cause eventual damage to the battery, so the Enviroplug helps to extend the life of your cell. Furthermore, keeping cell phones plugged in to charge all the time sucks little bits of energy that you just don't need to be using.

Recycled Wet and Dry Log Maker: This gadget is quite phenomenal in that it uses household trash to make logs you can burn in the fireplace or at a camp. It reduces the cutting down of small trees for logs while allowing you to recycle paper and other waste into burnable logs. This gadget is super green in its reduction of deforestation and waste.

Solar Powered Pond Oxygenator: Ponds need to be oxygenated most often during very sunny days. Pond pumps use a decent amount of energy; however, why not create a small aquatic ecosystem that does not require the use of electricity? Not only is the solar powered gadget green, but putting a small pond in your yard is a green landscaping technique.

Thermal Leak Detector: Weatherizing your home can save you a good deal of money on your electric bill. Ever wondered if your lighting fixtures, doors and windows were properly sealed? Using your own gadget to find thermal leaks can save you from energy loss as you continue to make improvements to your home.

Kitchen Compost Bin: Composting saves money on garden fertilizer and reduces waste and garbage, making composting a very green habit. A kitchen composter can be dreadfully convenient in that you don't have to make several trips to the outdoor compost pile. You can use the Kitchen Compost Bin with filters to reduce odors, flies, and other bugs. It helps the composting process by allowing ventilation without the exhalation of odor. The composter is relatively inexpensive and uses zero electricity, making it one really green gadget.
