It's been a long time since I have found a hair salon that made me actually have a beaming smile when I left their place of business. In fact, I had actually sworn off beauty salons for awhile because of the last horrible experience I had getting my hair professionally done. I had asked for blond natural highlights, and instead I walked out looking like I was part of the skunk family. I was not a happy customer. I swore to myself I would never pay over $100 for a bad haircut and color again. However, recently on a whim I walked into the Five Star Beauty & Barber Salon in Lehigh Acres, Florida for a simple hair cut, and I am so thankful I did because it was the best hair salon that I have ever been to in Florida. I noticed Five Star Beauty & Barber Salon in the Winn Dixie Plaza that I was shopping in. I had just finished shopping for new clothes for my husband, and I was driving by when I saw the hair salon. It said it would take walk in appointments. Their normal hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sundays by appointment at (239) 303-7002. I mentioned it to my husband who I was with at the time, and we decided it was a good day for a haircut. I walked in, and they took me right away. There was no waiting time. I thought that was a huge plus.

The person who did my hair was Nel. He was dressed nicely, and he had a confident air about him. I felt like I was in good hands right away. He sat me down, and we discussed how I should have my hair done. He understood right away what I wanted.

While I was getting my hair done, I explained to Nel why I was looking like a hot mess. He made me feel at ease with my fears about yet another bad haircut. In fact he made me feel so much better that I decided that I would have my hair colored too. Nel walked me through the whole hair process, and explained everything thoroughly. When he styled my hair he explained it so that I could do it myself when I got home. He has amazing hair skills, and when he was styling my hair I couldn't believe how fast his hands were going. It was like watching a magic show.

The rest of the staff there was very nice as well. Although the design of the shop was sparse the staff made it really warm and friendly. I was offered tea, coffee, and water so many times that I lost count. They all paid me lovely compliments which made me feel really special. They were so nice that my husband decided he was going to get his haircut also. They were just that good.

When I saw the final result of my hair I could not stop the amazing joy that spread through me. Nel had taken my hot mess hair, and he had made it into a master piece. I glowed for the rest of the day. So, if you are ever in the south west Florida area, you must stop and get your hair done at Five Star Beauty & Barber Salon in Lehigh Acres, Florida. I know you will not regret it. It is the best beauty salon that I have been to in a very long time.
