Five Strategies to Make You Succeed Selling Your Articles on the Web

Michelle Knudson
Writing for content sites which make you submit keyword articles is nothing like regular publication. Keyword articles are only for the placement of good rankings in the search engines for people that search for a particular subject. A unique slant on a topic does impress editors. Everybody loves a new twist on a new topic seen from a different angle. Here are five strategies to make you succeed selling your articles on the web.

You Must Read The Editorial Calendar

Editors will reject an article for failure to follow writers guidelines. They take the time to put out writers guidelines to show to freelance writers exactly what they are looking for in order to eliminate lousy submissions and wasted time. You have to write what they are exactly looking for in order to get a price offer. You must meet what a magazine seeks otherwise you'll just be spinning your wheels and going nowhere. Unique content is what impresses most editors.

Your Best Friends Are Techniques, Tips, and Strategies.

Readers don't have time to read a ten page article. People like to read sub-lines in order to get a general idea of what it entails. They want to know the top ten unique tips in under thirty seconds. You have to grab the readers attention otherwise they look elsewhere. Unique is what everyone seeks out whenever they see a new article anywhere. Readers are looking for valuable information quickly all the time. Keywords make the article appear faster on the search engine which makes you more popular with the content site, or magazine. Uniqueness is the key to success.

Always Site Your Source Unless It's Acquired Personal Knowledge

Nearly every article requires a source. Editors want sources from .gov websites and .edu websites on the web since they are the most reliable. WebMd is another website that some of them accept as a good source. The mayo clinic is another source that you can cite as well. You must get use to citing a source in order to succeed. Editors want to know more than just personal experience in most cases. They want to see where you did research in order to put together the articles. Make sure to double check all stats and facts.

Quotes From Experts

You must use quotes from experts. Experts make the article appear to have more creditability standing behind it. Think of it this way,you are using someones knowledge to your advantage. A expert benefits you more all the way from writing to being sold. Experts give you further knowledge and increase your chances of a sale. Unique knowledge is always the best.

Cut The Word Count

The word count is important. Many newbie writers think that the more words they wrote then more they will get paid for the article which is the number one error. If the editor wants a 500 word article that is what you submit to them. Do not give them more than the specific amount or anything less. Every article basically has words cut out on the final piece to be published.

Your grammar needs work as does your sentence structure. They don't flow at all. You also need to learn how to properly write website and proper names. It's WebMD and Mayo Clinic.

I totally agree with you on the word count. It's like writing for short attention span theater but it also forces you to hone your skill and get all the important bits and pieces in more concisely than you thought you could. Sadly some style falls by the wayside.
