Five Suggested Juicers for Raw Foodists

Michael Sass
Making your own fruit and vegetable juices is becoming more and more popular, but today's juicers are not the ones your grandmother had. They are more sophisticated and designed not only to extract juice, but to do so in a manner that keeps the vitamins in. There is a wide price range, so you do not have to spend hundreds on your first juicer. Start small and see how it works for you. Then, if you become a home made juice fan, you can up grade. When you consider the health benefits involved, it is more than worth the effort. The prices listed are the most reasonable around, but always keep your eyes out for sales.

Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer - This juicer has an extra large feeder so you do not have to cup up the fruits and veggies first. The motor is super quite, it is dishwasher safe and you can extract up to 30% more juice from the fruits and veggies than you would with most other juicers. This one costs about $100.00.

Breville - Juice Fountain Plus Electric Juicer - Silver - This juicer has a 2 speed motor and a large feeding tube and is made of super strong polymer. It will also squeeze juice from the left over pulp. This one costs about $150.00 .

Omega Pulp Ejecting Juicer Model 4000 - This juicer comes with a 14 year guarantee and is made of White Lustran Plastic and Surgical Stainless Steel. It also comes with an energy efficient motor. The juicer has 12 rubber feet, which keep it secure while working. It is also easy to take apart and put back together again. This one costs about $220.00.

Oster 3157 24oz Juicer 300W - This juicer is one of the most economical on the market. It is small and compact, easy to store and easy to clean as well. The jar will hold up to 20 ozs of juice and it is dishwasher safe as well. This one costs about $40.00.

Champion Juicer - Commercial - This is a commercial model, but it is small enough to be used in the home. It does something most of the other models do not and that is it actually chews up the fibrous parts of the fruits and veggies. This gives you a juice that is rich in fiber and vitamins as well.
