Five Super Bowl Records that Will Not Be Broken in Super Bowl XLV

Every Super Bowl there is a chance for a breakout performance which results in records being broken. These are five Super Bowl Records that we believe will not be broken in Super Bowl XLV by any member of the Pittsburgh Steelers or Green Bay Packers.

1. Most Rushing Yards Single Game

When it comes to running the ball, the Steelers are the only team that has some moderate success running the ball, averaging 120.3 yards per game during the season. The real reason no players are going to come away with this Super Bowl record is the defenses. The Steelers only gave up 62.8 yards per game on the ground while the Packers 114.9 yards per game.

2. Most Touchdown Passes Single Game

While we have two capable quarterbacks in Super Bowl XLV; Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers, we should not expect them to light up the scoreboard with their arms. Each team has a top ten defense and has the ability to disrupt the passing game with a pass rush. If the record is going to go down, Rodgers has to be the favorite to accomplish it.

Current Record - 6 Touchdown passes (Steve Young - San Francisco)

3. Most Receiving Yards Single Game

The record set by Jerry Rice has stood the test of time even though the NFL has grown more into a passing league. Despite this growing trend, neither of the leading receivers for their respective team do not have a chance to eclipse this mark. The Packers' Greg Jennings had a season high of 152 yards while the Steelers' Mike Wallace had a season high of 136 yards.

4. Longest Field Goal

When it comes to the kicking game, everything needs to fall into place when it comes to the fifty plus yard field goals. So how do both kickers shape up? Mason Crosby has a career long of 56 that he managed to his in 2010 while Shaun Suisham has a career best of 52, set back in 2006. We believe if a Super Bowl win comes down to a field goal, it will be 40 yards or shorter.

5. Most Rushing Touchdowns Single Game

While three rushing touchdowns may not seem like a lot, it can be especially for the teams participating in Super Bowl XLV. Packers' Brandon Jackson and Steelers' Rashard Mendenhall combined for 16 rushing touchdowns during the regular season and Mendenhall was the only one who scored two touchdowns twice in one game. Another side note, both defenses have only given up 11 rushing touchdowns.
