Five Things that Need to GO AWAY!

K.E.Smith
5. Spiders and Bees - Don't give me that old speech about how spiders cut down on other insects and how bees pollinate flowers. I hate them and they need to simply cease to exist. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. Spiders wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have waaaay too many legs. It's creepy and crawly alright. And do bees really need a way to attack us... with a sharp pointy rear end. The least our scientists could be doing is genetically engineering these freaks of nature so that they were less scary. There would be less girls in the world screaming "KILL IT!" We need to re-evaluate the need for these things, and quickly... before they multiply.

4. Jon and Kate - I'm just tired of hearing about them. Big surprise, you went on a show making a crap load of money and your marriage falls apart. Don't you watch T.V.? Now filming has stopped altogether thanks to Jon, but Kate may continue on her own show. Granted, those kids have gotten to do lots of fun stuff that wouldn't have been possible without the show. But it's time to let them get back to normal.

3. Road Construction - We can put a man on the moon and eight babies in Octomom's uterus but we can't make roads that don't fall apart? I get it, it keeps construction workers employed, but we could do better. Not only is it annoying to be dealing with construction every spring, but it's not good for the environment either. Right after the scientists are done with the spider/bee issue, they need to get on this.

2. Kanye West - After the Taylor Swift incident I am done with this guy. Who does he think he is that he can run up on stage and interrupt someone's acceptance speech? Fine, he doesn't agree that she deserved to win, but how dare Kanye ruin Taylor's big moment. He should be ashamed of himself, but more importantly he should be tarred and feathered and run out of town. At least, he should not be given any more attention. He doesn't deserve it.

1. No Child Left Behind - Ask anyone in the education field, No Child Left Behind has caused nothing but problems. Expecting schools to all achieve the same standards when they are not the same is absurd. Schools vary greatly in resources just as the students vary in their economic background, which all affects performance in the classroom. But instead of making radical changes in how schools are allocated funds, we punish the schools that test poorly. What we need to do is reward the schools whose scores improve. If a six grade class tests at a fifth grade reading level we should give them applause if they started out the year at a fourth grade level. Instead of trying to hold everyone to the same standard we need to recognize when improvement is made. We need changes in the education system, but No Child Left Behind is not the change we need.

This list is just to get us started. If you feel the world would be better off without something, feel free to share!

The world would be better off without the Duggars. For multiple reasons.
