Five Things You May Not Know About Charlie Sheen

Jenna de Salea
Charlie Sheen's been in the news a lot recently for his wild lifestyle, including being rushed to the hospital after a couple of days partying with adult film stars in his home. Though his wild antics do make headlines, there are some things you might not know about the "Two and a Half Men" star. Here are five little known facts about Charlie Sheen.

Considered for the Bruce Wayne/Batman role that went to Michael Keaton in 1989
According to imdb.com, Sheen was a serious contender for the first Batman movie directed by Tim Burton. Kind of hard to imagine him in the costume, right?

Charlie turned down roles that went to Woody Harrelson
"White Men Can't Jump," "Indecent Proposal," and "The Cowboy Way" were all roles that Sheen turned down, and Harrelson picked up, transitioning him from sitcom star to movie star.

He went to High School with Sean Penn and Rob Lowe
Now THAT is a year book. Could you imagine that Santa Monica High School reunion? "Oh, hey that's just Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn, and Rob Lowe...no biggie." The three actors are still great friends to this day.

Took Ben Affleck to rehab in 2001
Oh irony... Charlie Sheen was the one that took Ben Affleck to the Promises facility in Malibu when he checked himself in to fight his addiction to alcohol. Maybe the whole saying 'those who don't do...teach' is spot on in this instance. Let's not forget, it was also Courtney Love that got Whitney Houston to rehab.

Sheen's a huge Cincinnati Reds fan
A huge baseball afficionado, Sheen has had an extensive collection of baseball memoribilia, once wanted to be a major league pitcher, playing one in both "Major League" movies as rebel "Wild Thing" Ricky Vaughn, and is a huge Cincinnati Reds fan. Which can be painful more years than not.

So while Sheen might be struggling with some demons in the public eye, there is obviously much more to this star than the usual tabloid fodder.
