Five Things You Should Say to Your Spouse

Karl Withakay
There are some simple things you can say that will strengthen your marriage and make it stronger. They're just simple sentiments to let your spouse and to show your spouse how much they mean to you.

"I Love You"

Too many people fall into the attitude of, "Oh I don't need to tell them I love them, he/she KNOWS I love them". Nothing could be further from the truth. Tell them you love them each and every day. Make sure you tell them each night before you go to sleep as well.

"I'm Glad I Married You"

Let your spouse know that you feel fortunate that you married them. Just imagine how you would feel if your husband or wife told you every day that she feels lucky to have married you. How cool is that?

"You Look Beautiful (or Handsome)"

Beauty isn't just how they look. It's the whole package. They're appearance, their characteristics, their sense of humor and everything else. Knowing that your husband or wife is still attracted to you is a great feeling. Knowing that they still desire you is great too. You telling that to your spouse will have the same effect on them.

"I Need Your Opinion On Something"

Asking your spouse for their opinion on something, lets them know that you value their wisdom. Doing this, you will be acknowledging your spouses wisdom and showing that you value their opinion. That will build a stronger bond between the two of you.

Point Out One Of Your Spouse's Strengths

Try this, "Hon, I love how you make it a point of spending quality time with the boys". Or, "Baby, there's nothing you cook that isn't absolutely perfect. You're such a great cook".

These are just little things you can say. Saying these five things at different times during the day every day, you'll find your spouse likely returning the behavior and your marriage will be much stronger. Now get to it. You have some catching up to do.
