Five Tips for Finding a Balance Between Work and Parenting

1. Ask for Help

I don't mean from your significant other, or a grandparent, although these are fully valid. I'm talking about when you are out and about. Say thank you when someone holds the door open, take advantage when a grocery store offer's you help to the car. Get friendly with your neighbors, you might need them to keep watch on your house one day. This is a base you will need to cover since you aren't at home to do it yourself.

2. Take Time out for you

Reward yourself for a job well done. Whether you have to money or not, either get or give yourself a pedicure and manicure. Take a bubble bath. Do something out of sorts and drink a glass of wine during your favorite TV program. Start a book, or go walk around a store without the kids.

3. Join a Playgroup.

This seems like it might be impossible while being at work, but Saturday play dates will get the kids just worn out enough for a nice long nap. Plus it will provide you with support you need from other Mothers.

4. Don't get to Busy to keep them Healthy

There is nothing wrong with the occasional happy meal, but don't resort to that every other day. Purchase a crock pot, and the weekend nights you are home, cook two meals instead of one. You can even make a super big batch in the pot, and have enough for three meals. It will cut down on the nasty things that go in your kids body, and help with the budget.

5. Take Time Out for Your Kids

Dinner Time and Bath Time's don't count. Take thirty minutes a day to play with them. Read a book. Go for a walk. Don't be doing anything else other than enjoying your children. Let them have your full attention at this moment.
