Five Tips for Improving Your Capture the Flag Paintball Skills

Paintball was first started as a game for hunters in 1981, with the objective to test their hunting prowess against that of their friends. It has evolved into an extreme sport in which one can experience the thrill of battle without any fatalities of course. In the Capture the Flag paintball game, the objective is for the teams to capture their opponent's flag while trying to protect their own from capture. The team that captures and brings back its opponents' flag is the winning team. Also, the elimination of all opposing players ensures victory.

A strategy adopted by teams in Capture the Flag paintball game is to give functions to their players and thus assign positions. These may be Back, Runner and Midfield. The Back players should be responsible for protecting the area near their flag and prevent its capture by the opponent team. The Runner must run and try to penetrate as deep as possible into the opponent area and capture the opponent flag and then run back as fast as possible to their own base. The Midfield players must run out onto the middle area of the field as close to the opponent flag, and must be responsible for suppression fire to provide cover to their runner as he tries to capture the opponent flag. Various tactics can be employed in winning the Capture the Flag paintball game.

Once the whistle is blown, immediately get to cover. Spread your team out and avoid concentrating on any particular section of the course as this would make your team mates easy target for the opponents. Make sure that your teammates cover the entire field. If you get flanked in Capture the Flag paintball game, then you have no chance to win!

Players can move in pairs so that one person can cover while the other moves from location to location. This is the most effective strategy as it gives adaptability in effecting a victory. In Capture the Flag paintball game, the players must keep moving while being covered and covering teammates all the time. Move down the course along the flanks if possible as this gives a better angle of fire on enemy to reduce their numbers.

When moving for the flag, make sure that teammates fire heavily on the opposition so that they will not wish to break cover. This will also make it difficult for the opposing team members to figure out which teammate is carrying their flag once it is removed.

On capturing the flag, moving back to your own base can be done in various ways. If there are only a few opponents left, then run flat out zigzagging your way back to base. If a sizeable number of the opponent team is still in the game, then make sure you have cover as you move back. The flag can be relayed to a team mate after capture in order to throw off the opposition.

In case the opposing team captures the flag before you do, break cover and concentrate a center third of your team mates to fire on the enemy while the remaining charge down the flanks trying to snipe the opposing runner. If you find yourself cornered, launch quickly and keep firing heavily. This may shock the opposing teammates and give you an advantage, still giving you a chance to eliminate the opposing team and win Capture the Flag paintball game!
