Five Tips for Juggling Children

Priscilla - Young Texas Mommy of 3
1. Keep a Schedule

Get some form of Day-Timer going. Record any important dates, appointments, menu plans (this is important), and daily schedules. Keep any important phone number's here. Also, it's good to set aside a section or note pad for to-do lists.

2. Plan Ahead and Be Prepared

Have everything ready to go the day before. Keep spares of everything in your vehicle. Just get a Tupper wear box, put extra diapers, juice boxes, wipes, and changes of clothing for each child. During the winter, add extra flashlights, hand warmers, and a large thermal blanket.

3. Relax

Take deep breaths. Make sure you take time out for you, or you will lose your mind. It's inevitable. Take breaks and reward yourself. Even if it's just a five minute period where you lock yourself in your bathroom and meditate, or going by yourself and walking around your favorite store. You need it, take the time.

4. Find a buddy in the same boat.

Find someone else who is also juggling multiple kids. Make each other your accountability buddies, a shoulder to lean on from someone who understands and can sympathize honestly with your stress. Once a month or so, get a sitter and go out for dinner together as a get away.

5. Ask for help.

Don't let yourself get overrun. If you feel yourself reaching a breaking point, ask for the help. Nobody will look down on you for it, so do it. You will not only thank them, but you will thank yourself in the end.
