Five TV Crossover Appearances We Would Love to See This Fall Season

Rolando Cruz
I've always wondered why television networks don't make better use of crossover appearances. Sure, every once in a while a character or two from one series will make a guest appearance on a different show. Sometimes, like in the case of CSI, a character like Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne), will make an appearance across three separate shows (albeit they were all different incarnations of CSI). Still, these types of appearances are rare, and few networks or shows ever bother with the tactic. If they did, here are five crossover appearances we would all love to see.

Dr. Gregory House on Grey's Anatomy

Though House is on Fox and Grey's Anatomy on ABC, having Dr. Gregory House match ego and medical expertise with the fine doctors of Seattle Grace would be must see TV. The ever controversial House could be brought in to consult on a one of a kind medical case in which his far-fetched but correct diagnosis clashes with Seattle Grace's finest. Eventually it would be up to Chief of Surgery Derek Shepard to roll the die on House's diagnosis and save the patient. Grey's Anatomy could reciprocate the favor and send some of its doctors over to the Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital for a show or two.

Bones and Castle: Battle of the Novelists

A battle of best-selling crime novelists who happen to double as one half of a crime solving duo, would make for a good crossover story. Though Bones resides on Fox and Castle on ABC, a get together of the two could center on a crime in New York City that requires FBI involvement. The story line would then bring together mystery novelist Rich Castle (Nathan Fillon) and Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) who just happen to be writing rivals, but who secretly enjoy each others work. Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) would of course have to do the real police work.

The Bachelor /Survivor All-Stars

With over 20 seasons under its belt, Survivor (CBS) is always a show looking for a fresh way to re-package itself. That being the case, why not marry it off to ABC's The Bachelor for one season? The hook line would simply be, "can love survive in the harshest of conditions?" The cast would be comprised of single members of past shows from both series. The contest would pit randomly chosen couples competing against each other for a two million dollar prize. The catch? The winning couple would need to get married and stay married for at least 2 years to collect the money.

Supernatural -Vampire Diaries Spectacular

The fact that both shows belong to the CW network would make it easy for the boys from Supernatural to pay a visit to Mystic Falls Virginia (home to The Vampire Diaries). After saving the world from total destruction, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) deserve to slum it a bit by tackling a simple country town full of vampires. Visiting Mystic Falls by request of a long lost love, the Winchester boys would match wits with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Of course, since neither series can afford to lose their lead actors, only a few guest extras would be lost in the ensuing melee.

The Chuck Covert Affair

New on the USA network, the spy television series Covert Affairs could benefit from mixing it up with NBC's Chuck. The crossover episode, which would take place on the more popular Chuck, would center around Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) being the half sister of Agent Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski), after all, the characters share the same surname. Annie, in a fit of sister rivalry, could make a play for Chuck (Zachry Levi) while sharing a spy mission with the couple. Will he or won't he have a "covert affair?" Only one way to find out what Chuck will do, and that is to get these two series together.

Brilliant! If House were on Grey's Anatomy, I might even watch the show again (OK, at least the crossover episode). I'm also loving the Castle/Bones idea, more because I'd love to see Booth and Beckett square off than anything else. Where would the Squints be in this?

A Supernatural and Vampire Diaries Spectacular would be fun.
