Five Twitter Apps for Bloggers and Online Affiliate Marketers

Social media is quickly becoming a viable option for making money online. Social media allows bloggers to get the word out quickly to a target market. This method can bring additional visitors to the blog. This method also works for increasing your online affiliate marketing commissions. Twitter is proving a great tool for bloggers and online affiliate marketing. Twitter apps can increase this potential. These are five Twitter apps that we have found helpful in marketing blogs and increasing online affiliate marketing commissions.

Twitter App #1: TwittAd.com
TwittAd.com describes their service as, "...a Social Media Affinity Network that connects Advertisers
and Twitter users. By using Twittad, Twitter users can monetize their profiles & Advertisers can reach ALL of Twitter; the Website, 3rd Party Applications and Mobile Devices!"

TwittAd's services is very simple. Twitter users signup for an account. TwittAd automatically pulls in information about how many followers a Twitter user has and the category that most closest aligns with their account. Publishers post advertising campaigns. TwittAd matches advertisements to Twitter user accounts. When your account has a matching advertising campaign then you are sent an email. The ad runs on your Twitter profile and you earn money.

Twitter App #2: Twitter Feed
RSS feed directories are one way to get more blog visitors. Twitter Feed applies this idea to Twitter accounts. Twitter Feed allows bloggers to syndicate RSS feeds to their Twitter accounts. Bloggers can choose how often Twitter Feed will check the RSS feed for new stories. Choices range between 30 minutes to over several hours. Bloggers may also choose how many entries will be posted. Bloggers can choose to have between 1 and 5 entries posted per update.

Twitter App #3: Social Oomph
One method of receiving more Twitter followers is to follow other people, with similar interests. The goal is to have those people follow you back. This was an effective method to get relatively targeted followers. Twitter enacted some changes that made this tougher. Twitter stops you from following people if your ratio between followers and following are too high.

Social Oomph helps alleviate this issue. Bloggers can allow Social Oomph to automate their followers and people they are following. When you get new followers, Social Oomph will follow them. If the people you are following do not follow you back then Social Oomph will remove them.

Twitter App #4: TweetDeck
One marketing method is to cater to niche markets. The same may be done with Twitter. I have created a Twitter account for each of my niche blogs. TweetDeck makes it very easy to manage multiple Twitter accounts.

TweetDeck is a desktop application that resides on your computer. It allows you to view Twitter information in different columns. You can view the people your following's tweets in one column. Mentions of you in another column. You also can view one column for each of your different Twitter accounts.

TweetDeck also updates every few minutes. This allows you to quickly see the people you are following's tweets. You can easily respond to these tweets or retweet them without the need to copy and paste. This will allow the people you are following to see that you are very active. This will build rapport and make it much easier to build a larger following.

Twitter App #5: UnFollow All
In an effort to get more followers, you may be following of fellow Tweeters. Twitter does not provide an easy way to see which of these people are also following you. When you add in robots and people who post the same ad message, multiple times per month, you have a recipe for an unruly account. If you Twitter account has become unruly then you may want to just start over. UnFollow All allows you to do just that. UnFollow All will unfollow all of your followers. This allows you to start over from zero.

If you are not currently using Twitter then you should seriously consider it. Twitter is gaining hundreds (if not thousands) of users per day. Twitter is a great way to connect with your blog's readers and potential online affiliate marketing customers. These five Twitter applications will extend Twitter's built -in functionality and add features such as automatically unfollowing people you follow who do not follow you, unfollow all people and start over, and easily manage multiple Twitter accounts.
