Five Unique Valentine's Day Experiences/Gifts for Her

No Matter What Type of Girl She Is, One of These Unique Ideas Might Apply to Her

Girls: are you looking for some non-traditional Valentine's Day ideas to share with your boyfriend or husband? Did he ask you over dinner sometime in January what you wanted to do on February 14th and you weren't sure what to say? Men: here are some ideas that you might find to be unique, unusual, and fun for your significant other. Skip the lines at the mall, and give her something she'll remember for years to come: an experience.

Not all women are created equal; as such, different experiences will appeal to different people. Some are romantics, some are tomboys, some love art and music, some would rather watch a football game. Here are five ideas that (hopefully) appeal to lots of different women, and maybe yours in particular.

The romantic woman will enjoy just that: a romantic evening or weekend together. Plan a night at your place or at a hotel and pull out all the stops. Customize time together with things that you know she enjoys. Buy a nice bottle of champagne and lounge around, just enjoying each other's company. If you choose to book a hotel, go with the nicest one around (that's within budget of course) and see if a package is available that includes couples' massages or a nice dinner.

The sentimental girl will be happy reliving your relationship with you. Consider going wherever you had your first date or to a place that has meaning for both of you. If you shared your first kiss on a beach, go there, and remind her about how special it was. If your first weekend away together was in a different town, spend the weekend there and do some or all of the things you did that first weekend. If you were engaged in a special place, go there and narrate how it happened. No matter what you choose, as long as it has meaning, it will be special to her, and maybe even to you, too.

The tomboy may not enjoy anything romantic or sentimental, but would probably love to go to a sporting event with you! If it's in your budget, buy two floor seats for a basketball game or get passes to meet your favorite baseball players after the game. Concerts are always a good idea too, especially if you have similar musical tastes. If it's possible, get her a backstage pass to meet her favorite artist and she'll never forget that experience... or you.

The easy-to-please woman is just that: easy to please (but don't confuse that with low-maintenance!). She may enjoy something low-key like a picnic in a local park or spending a Sunday afternoon watching an Audrey Hepburn movie with you. Depending on your significant other, surprise her with something unusual and unique. This could be anything from a nice bottle of wine to a night out doing something she likes. Most girls like a little bit of unpredictability as well as surprises (especially good ones!).

The cliché girl loves the "typical" Valentine's Day, complete with a dozen roses and a box of chocolates. Cater to her feminine side by indulging her, if even just for a day, with all things girlie. Make her feel special by saying those three magical words, and maybe treating her to a manicure and pedicure, a nice piece of jewelry, or something else she would enjoy.

No matter what you decide to do, be sure it is unique and memorable... because if she remembers the experience being incredible, she'll remember you are (rightly so) incredible, too.
