Five Ways to Beat the Heat in Central New Jersey

Mrs. Renee
Being in the middle of a heat wave in New Jersey can not only be stressful for parents, but also for kids. Not all kids want to spend their days in the swimming pools, especially if those pools are so crowded. The pool water will not help cool you down if it is warm in the water. So if you live in the central New Jersey area, below are five ways that you can go about beating the heat.

Junglerrrific

This is a great place to take young children, on a very hot day. They have two locations one at 2226 Route 9 South, South Howell, NJ 07731. The other location is at 2105 Highway 35 North Oakhurst (Ocean), NJ 07755. To contact the Howell NJ location you can call (732) 410-6710, and for the Oakhurst location, you can call (732) 918-1900. They have nice foam made forest, arcade games, and even little ride on toys. You do have to pay a fee for this location, but it is worth it to keep your kids cool, and allow them a few hours of fun. You can click on the link above to visit the website and find out the pricing information.

The New Jersey Adventure Aquarium

The Adventure Aquarium has extended their hours during the summer months. Of course this may not be something you can afford to do everyday, but during a heat wave it may actually be one of the best locations. They are located at 1 Riverside Drive, Camden, NJ 08103. The telephone number is (856) 365-3300. You can spend the entire day here with the kids, checking out the animals in an air conditioned facility. It might even be worth it to get the annual passport so that you and your kids can visit year round. Family passes are about $215. This includes 2 adults and up to 4 children. This can change at any time so be sure to constantly check the website.

Northlandz Great American Railway Doll Museum & Art Gallery

If you are looking for something unique and fun than this may be the best option. They have huge train setup's, which includes bridges and canyons. They also have an amazing doll collection. They are located at 495 U.S. 202 Flemington NJ. The contact number is (908) 782-4022. It is only $13.75 for adults and $9.75 for children between the ages of two and twelve. Any child under the age of two is free. They are not open on Tuesday's so be sure to pick your day accordingly. There is a lot to see, and do at this particular location.

Insectropolis

Insectropolis is definitely a place that only kids can really enjoy. Your kids can get hands on bug education in a nice comfortable facility. So if it is just too hot out and your kids are into bugs this may be the perfect location to visit. They are located at 1761 Route 9, Toms River, NJ 08755. The contact number is (732) 349-7090. They are open year round Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. They have a lot of hands on presentations during the summer months, so that kids can get up and person with the bugs.

Princeton University Art Museum

Why not spend the summer months cooling off in an educational way, for free. They are located in Princeton New Jersey. You can click on the link above to find out the hours and get directions to the location. Even if your kids are not into art, this is a great way to introduce them to it, while cooling off on a hot day.
