Five Ways for Your Child to Make Some Extra Money

All of us know that our economy is down right now. Many households are suffering because of this. Our children are some of the people in our households that are having to do without or are having to have items cut back from them. In this article I would like to share with you some ways that your children can make some extra money so that they can get some things that they desire. These are some of the things that we used to do when we were children.

The first thing that your children can do is to do yard work for someone. You can help them find someone who wants their weeds pulled or their leaves picked up. Many people do not have the extra time to pick up their leaves. They would love to have the help. What I would encourage you to do is to grab some trash bags and a rake and put them into your car. Drive around your neighborhood and look for houses that have leaves in the front yard. Go with your child to the door and have him ask if he can pick up their leaves. You can decide on the price depending on how many leaves are on the ground.

Another way for your child to make money would be to pick up the dog mess in people's yards. Many times people are so involved at work by the time that they get home the dog mess is the last thing that they want to think about. You can talk to your friends that own dogs or ask neighbors. Help your child to negotiate a price. Make sure that your child is doing a great job too.

A third way for your child to make some extra money is to take care of some ones animals. Find people that have to go on business trips and need animal care. If you know that your child can be responsible then you can allow them to do this. Of course, I would always check to make sure that they have completed the job correctly. This will be a great opportunity for your child to be around different types of animals.

A fourth way that your child can earn some extra money is to clean house. Find someone that's needs a little extra help around their home and have your child help them. There are many elderly people in communities that could use an extra hand. Many times the elderly population is more than willing to pay to get some help.

The last way that your child can earn some extra money is to baby sit. Many couples would like to go out on a date night and need someone to watch their children while they are gone. This would make an excellent opportunity for your child to learn about children as well as earn some extra money.

The next time that your child wants something that your pocketbook cannot afford I would encourage you to help him to find ways to earn some extra money. The list above is a great start. I know with some imagination that you can come up with some more ideas yourself.
