Five Ways to Dress Your Baby Boy in Style

Rose Alexis
Making a little boy standout when it comes to style may not be as easy as it is if you are dressing a little girl, but it can be done quite effectively. The following five suggestions will help you make the most of your young man's looks. Of course the cutest thing about a baby, toddler, or child is the child himself, but these ideas are sure to evoke some well-deserved ooh's and ahh's along the way.

One: A hat works wonders for framing a baby's face and creating an adorable look to boot. You can get a hat in many shapes and styles, including a baseball cap made from any variety of materials, including soft leather, denim, or traditional canvas-type material; a beret for fancier styles, or knit. Purchasing matching sweater and hat sets are especially cute, and with chilly or downright cold weather approaching may be a great way to spruce up baby's look this time of year. If opting for the latter option, you can get sweater and hat sets with a matching print, including those with a holiday theme, if you so desire.

Two: Get cute with those socks. There is such a huge array of adorable sock options for little boys on the market right now. You can get designs, or opt for a more subtle look, such as colored stripes along the bottom that add just the right touch of cute. This is a great way to accessorize for a boy and creates a great complimentary look for many an outfit.

Three: Go with a name brand. Nothing looks cuter than your little guy all spruced up in miniature adult wear. For instance, have him donning a cute little pair of Nike, or other name brand shoes, and you yourself will chuckle at how cute they are, especially if Dad is prone to wearing the same name brand. Or go for recognizable outwear. Among the many outerwear items in our little guy's closet (thanks to a ton of generous friends and relatives) is a denim fur-lined, heavy duty Ralph Lauren Polo with a matching fur collar. I cannot tell you how many times people come up to him and discuss that coat when I put it on him. It is really an adorable item and a cute fashion statement. Of course these are just two examples of many that you can draw from. Name brands in little sizes are quite easy to find, and if you shop during sales, or at discount stores such as T.J. Max, or Marshalls, they are easy to afford as well.

Four: Dress up. Your little man is bound to look splendid in a little tuxedo pleated shirt, suspenders, and bowtie, or a vest and necktie, or even a full blown suit. These are especially grand for holidays and formal events, and for attending church. Make the outfit complete with a little pair of dress shoes that match the outfit. You won't get far before people are complimenting your son's look. These kinds of outfits are great for picture taking as well.

Five: Get a running suit for the little man in your life that depicts his (or ahem, your) favorite sports team. It can be college or professional, but the look is always one that is adorable. Unfortunately for us, we live in Michigan so we have purchased Detroit Lions wear. The team may not be so great, but the outfit surely is, and never fails to start a conversation when we go in public, not to mention it is a simple, cute, and effective way to keep baby warm.

There you have it; five simply adorable ways to dress the baby or toddler boy in your home. Who says dressing boys can't be stylish and fun?
