Your front door is most obviously one of the first things guests notice. Sprucing up your front door is one of the easiest first steps into enhancing the look of your front yard. Here are five to spruce up your front door.

Paint It. One of the easiest ways to add new life to just about any object is paint. There are so many different sprays and brush on paints available on the market to make this a super easy and affordable option. Choose a color that coordinates with your home or go quite bold. Plus, one of the best things about painting your front door is that if you do not like the design you can always paint it again! (TIP: Bright colors such as bright red or deep purples add a fun touch.)

Add Vinyl Details. A quick web search for vinyl lettering will produce tons of options for your front door project. Many custom options are available, including your family name and/or home address numbering. A lot of these websites and companies will even allow you to choose fonts, sizes, etc. Usually the vinyl is adhesive backed meaning all you have to do is peel off paper and stick it directly onto your front door. (TIP: Interesting or thought provoking quotes ar also a great way to set your front door apart from others.)

Add Decorative House Numbering. Decorative style house numbering is another excellent way to spruce up your front door. Many retailers offer custom designs in a variety of styles ranging from metals to woods. Or, you can create your own decorative house numbering. Decoupage or paint wooden numbers, which are available at your local hardware store for pennies each. Hang the numbers on the front door. (TIP: Fun scrapbook paper prints, such as zebra or leopard print, can be adhered to the wood with decoupage medium.)

Wreaths and Bows. Wreaths and bows make a classic addition to any front door. Choose a different wreath to hang for each season or month. Or, consider taking a few rolls of florist's wire ribbon to create large bows to hang on the door. (TIP: If you are unsure on how to create a large bow, do an online search for tutorials. There are dozens of videos online to show you where to begin.)

Monograms. Monograms are quite trendy. Adding your family's monogram to your front door is a simple and inexpensive project. Look for fancy lettering wall stencils in at least a six inch size at your local home improvement store. Apply a bit of spray paint over the stencil onto the door. Very quick and easy!

TIP: Combining any of these ideas together only creates a fresher look!
