Five Ways for Students to Earn Extra Money

anon
As a college student I find myself in the same boat as most other college students, broke with no spending money. College expenses add up with the cost of tuitions, books, lab fees and not to mention pizza and beer. So you, as a college student, may be asking yourself well just how can I make that extra money. Here are some solutions to alleviate your financial crisis:

Craigslist.org is one of the best sites for students to look into. If you have any items laying around the apartment that you do not use anymore or are willing to part with for a price, put it on Craigslist. If you do not have anything to sell, check out the gigs section to see if you can find any odd jobs that people need done. When you are in need of something, see if you can find it on Craigslist before you spend top dollar at a store. There are tons of great jobs and deals; all you have to do is look.

If you enjoy spending time on the computer, try checking out myLot. This is a pay to post site where users are paid to start discussions and respond to other people's discussions. I have found that not only is this fun but you get to talk to people from all around the world. Who knows, maybe you will make some new friends.

While you are surfing the web, why not join a PTC site and make some money? The key is to join multiple sites so that the penny per ad starts to add up quicker. I would recommend 07bux.net or clixsense.com. These are the two sites that have given me the most money. Another trick is to look into upgrading your account on these sites. It usually is not very expensive but the number of ads available to upgraded members is significantly higher than those for free members.

Another option is to try your luck at online survey sites. As with PTC sites, the key is to join multiple sites so that you are getting more survey invitations. Some surveys only pay a couple of dollars but they add up quickly after a while. Be cautious when choosing sites to join though because some do not award cash but points for merchandise. Two sites that I enjoy are SurveySpot and OpinionOutpost. Both are reputable sites and award cash for completion of surveys instead of points.

If all else fails, you may just have to suck it up and get a part time job. My suggestion in this issue would be to apply at places where you will take use of the employee benefits. If you always go to the movies, try to get a job at the local theatre. If you are always out shopping for new clothes, apply to work at a retail store you frequently shop at. At least this way you will enjoy your work environment and you will be saving money with your discounts.

Hopefully you find success in one or more of these options. I have not become rich by using any of these methods but when you have no money, anything you earn is more than you started with. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of effort and dedication to find what works best for you.

Good article. As a Mom of a college student I will say I know a way you can save $$. No beer. :) I had to do that. Keep writing here and you'll soon see some cash adding up. A college student can add a treasure trove of info for parents and students. I wish you the best as I welcome you to AC. You get 5 stars from me on this one.
