Five Websites Where You Can Advertise Your Business for Free
Free Online Advertising for Your Business May Improve Business Recognition
Yahoo! Local
At Yahoo! Local, the Basic free setup allows you to input your website URL, business address, business phone number, and other basic information like hours, email address, or payment options. You can insert up to five business categories by first choosing a main category, like Legal and Financial Services, followed by a subcategory, like Notaries. Space is available for specific information you would like to include, like products and services offered, year established, and languages spoken. You can access the Yahoo! Local website by clicking here. Click on the "Sign Up" button to get started. If you don't already have a Yahoo email account, you will be prompted to set one up.
Google Places
A free business listing at Google Places will include your business name, business address and phone number, website URL, hours of operation, email, and payment methods, and you can select up to five business categories, all of which is much like Yahoo! Local. However, with Google Place, you can add up to ten images and up to five videos, all for free. Google Places requires that you verify your account with a PIN sent at your choice by phone or post card. You can access Google Places by clicking here. You will need a Google email account.
Merchant Circle
For a free business listing website, Merchant Circle offers as much as Google Place. In addition to all the standard information like business address, phone, email, website URL, hours of operation, and payment methods, you can add categories, tags/keywords and pictures. Customer reviews and an activity tracker showing how many ratings and visitors come as part of the package too. Signup for free online advertising through Merchant Circle by clicking here.
Yelp
Enter you business name, address, phone, email, website URL, up to three categories, and hours. Access Yelp by clicking here.
UScity.net
The free membership through UScity.net provides options for your website URL, description of the business, and keywords. You can select only one category for your business under the free membership plan. Access UScity.net by clicking here.
