Five Women Bloggers You Don't Want to Miss

Kathy Wiehl
Blogging is more popular now than ever, and it seems everyone has a blog. Search popular blog hosting sites and you will find blogs about everything from car repair to TV shows to sewing. Women bloggers are becoming very popular with blogs about parenting, cooking, and homeschooling. Here is a list of five awesome blogs by women.

Cakewrecks (http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/)
Cakewrecks is a hilarious photo blog written by Jen Yates that features cakes that are unintentionally ugly, gross, tacky, inappropriate, or funny in some other way. Readers can send in photos of professionally made cakes gone wrong and Jen provides witty commentary to go along with the pictures.

Pioneer Women (http://thepioneerwoman.com/)
Confessions of Pioneer Women is a beautiful blog written by Ree Drummond. Sections of her blog are devoted to cooking, photography, homeschooling, house and garden and the romantic story of how she met her husband, The Marlboro Man. The layout of this blog is gorgeous and the photography is stellar. The recipes are to die for. This is a must read.

$5 Dinners (www.fivedollardinners.com)
$5 Dinners is written by Erin Chase. According to the blog, she challenged herself to provide dinner for her family that cost $5 or less. The result is an amazing collection of recipes, cooking tips, food news and coupon tips. The recipes certainly do not look like budget meals, but as she explains, couponing and planning are a big part of how makes this work. This blog will be invaluable to any mom on a budget.

Mama Om (http://mama-om.blogspot.com/)
Written by Stacy Lewis, this blog covers a multitude of topics. Stacy's engaging writing style brings the reader into her world and exposes the real life of a mom working hard to parent peacefully. She discusses a little bit of everything in this blog. This is a great one to read over your morning coffee.

A Year of Slow Cooking (http://www.crockpot365.blogspot.com/)
This is an invaluable resource for any busy woman who loves to cook. The author, Stephanie O'Dea, challenged herself to make a crockpot recipe every day during the year 2008. The great thing about this blog is that she is honest, and hold nothing back. If a recipe doesn't work out, she will let you know.
