Five Yummy Snacks with 100 Calories or Less

Just Because They Have Less Calories, it Does Not Mean They Have Less Taste!

Sherri Thornhill

If you're trying to watch your calorie intake and you are looking for some tasty, low calorie snacks, you may be interested in my five favorite 100 calorie snacks. Some are even less than 100 calories, but all of them are really worth trying. These are also good treats for kids...if you feel like sharing with your little one.

Nabisco 100 Calorie Ritz Snack Mix

I really enjoy this salty, crunchy snack when I need a little pick me up. It is a small bag of baked snacks such as Ritz crackers, pretzel sticks, Cheez-It and Chex cereal. If you are watching your salt intake, you may want to pass on this tasty treat, or limit how often you eat one.

Sun Chips 100 Calorie Multigrain Snacks- Harvest Cheddar

Sun Chips are always a good alternative to regular chips if you are trying to watch your calorie intake. These harvest cheddar chips are perfect on their own or with a sandwich. If you get the urge to scarf down some chips, try a 100 calorie bag of these Sun Chips to satisfy the urge.

Nabisco Mister Salty Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels

If you enjoy a combination of salt and sweet, this is a great snack to satisfy that craving. At only 100 calories it is a reasonable snack to enjoy without guilt. The only downside is that there are not very many pretzels per pack.

Temptations by Jello: Lemon Meringue Pie Flavor

This has been the best snack/treat I have found in years! It really does taste like lemon meringue pie, so much so that you want to feel guilty for eating it! Don't feel guilty though, it is only 100 calories and it is perfect as an after dinner dessert!

Yoplait Delights Parfait Low Fat Yogurt (Chocolate Eclair or Creme Caramel)

I have tried both of these tasty yogurts and can say that they are yummy! If you are really into the caramel flavor, the creme caramel will delight your taste buds. If like me, chocolate is your sweet spot, the chocolate eclair yogurt will put a smile on your face.

If you have dietary restrictions you should check with a doctor to make sure these snacks are ok for you. You can find all of these snacks at your local grocery store.

I love lemon meringue pie, so that option sounds most intriguing to me. I haven't tried the yogurts, either, and they would be quite a treat. Thanks for sharing these ideas! rcj

These do sound yummy; I'll have to be on the look-out for them in the supermarket because I'll need some kind of snacky type thing to perk up my brain when the next semester starts up in September.
