Whether you're a model going on castings all day long, a business woman running from one meeting to the next, or a domestic goddess with your plate full, having make-up mishaps happen at the most inappropriate of times is not something we can afford to have happen. Some of the most common cosmetic hiccups can happen to the best of us at any time of day, but with a few tricks up your sleeve you can ensure that your look can regain its flawlessness in a few seconds flat.

There are a few items that you can carry in a small case in your purse, or keep in a desk drawer at work that will fix any make-up fiasco you may experience on any given day. These items include a small tube of concealer, face powder, make-up removing wipes, and a moisturizing lip gloss. You can consider this little group of cosmetics your treasure trove of fix anything make-up tricks.

Concealer is essential to have with you at all times, since pesky pimples are known to pop up out of nowhere and at the most inopportune times. With a dab of concealer you can make that blemish virtually disappear. Concealer is also perfect for covering dark circles under your eyes and even correcting make-up application that may have gone on too heavily as you rushed to get ready in the morning. If your blush looks too dark once you are out in natural light, use your concealer sparingly and dab it on your cheekbones then lightly rub it in to take down the shade of the blush by a few notches. The same can be done with too-dark eyeshadow.

Facial powder is another must-have for fixing random make-up mishaps. If you have a stubborn blemish that even a dab of concealer won't keep at bay, you can top off the concealer with some powder to lock in the color correction and absorb excess oils giving you a flawless look in an instant. Facial powder is also essential in keeping your overall look fresh throughout the day. Running around to meetings, go-sees and errands can make the most polished of us look sweaty and cause our make-up to run. A few swipes of your favorite facial powder across your forehead, nose and chin will make your face look fresh and clean and help keep your make-up in place. Like concealer, facial powder can also help tone down heavy blush or eyeshadow in a snap. If you prefer to go au naturale and are not a fan of powder, then keeping a small case of oil blotting papers will work to your advantage as it will remove shine from your T-zone so that you can look as fresh as when you left the house that morning.

Make-up removing wipes are essential to have at hand for correcting make-up mistakes. If your mascara or eyeliner are smudging or running because of the weather or overexertion, a make-up removing wipe will clean you up instantly. Make-up removing wipes can be found at any retailer and come in a variety of package sizes, some small enough to carry in a pocket or your smallest clutch. A cheaper, and just as effective option, is using unscented babywipes. They can work just as well as a make-up remover and often come infused with skin soothers such as aloe and vitamin E. Consider your wipes to be the fix it all eraser should you have any of your make-up go awry. Simply wipe it away and start fresh, or even use a wipe to dab your face with for a freshening, just washed feeling which is optimal if you live in hot or humid climates.

Last, but not least, you want to carry a moisturizing lip gloss at all times. Along with your eyes, your lips are a major focal point of your face. Lips have very thin skin and can easily become chapped due to dehydration, weather conditions, or even the habit of licking your lips while under pressure or stress. Keeping your lips glossed and smooth will give you a more polished and youthful appearance. Cracked, dry lips add years to a woman's face and can make lipstick and lip stains go on unevenly. Keep your lips hydrated and glossy and you'll know that you look great no matter what the situation.

With a few fix-anything make-up tricks and products you can be sure that your look will stay as fresh as it was when you first got ready. Make-up mishaps can happen to anyone, but if you are prepared for them, they don't have to ruin your day.
