Fix It, Lord

Shirley A Mandel
Oh Lord,
my little feelings
were hurt at church
by a fellow church lady tonight.
She was rude to me,
and she's the first daughter
of the first member of the church.
And I'm church member number last.

It's a little thing, Lord.
But it's the little things
that give us great pleasure,
and it's the little things that can also
give us great pain.

And my sensitive mind
has been so fragile lately.

But You are the God who can bring
good things out of our hurts
both great and small.
You can even teach us how
to flex that wonderful forgiveness muscle.

So fix it, Lord.
fix it.

You can do!

I can be pretty sensitive to rude comments too, so I feel your pain. Maybe she was just having a bad day? Most people don't mean to hurt others, and if they do, it is usually because they are hurting inside themselves.

Wonderfully writen, Shirley. Sometimes it seems that we are a living battle field, going from moment to moment, fighting sin upon sin. It should make it easier for us to understand the hurt that may drive those who cause us pain in words or deeds, yet it hardly ever does. God is the teacher of life and love. Let us lift up our crosses and follow him. Amen.

    Shirley,
I hope the emotional pain leaves you soon.
I know you are struggling to keep your
peace of mind. Chin up and smile as best as you can. You will be the best dressed in town with that smile.
