Fixing a Sluggish Apple Macbook Laptop Without Apple Care Protection

If you have a Macbook laptop, then you know that for many college students a laptop can be the biggest expense that they will have during their college education. This is because of the fact that a typical Macbook with bottom of the line features will run you about $1000.00 before taxes and this is typically more than most college students make in a year. I have owned a Macbook for almost a year now and I have found that the most important thing any college student can do is not purchasing a new Macbook when your older model is feeling sluggish. If you can manage to keep your old Macbook performing at top speeds then this will save you thousands of dollars before you even complete your education. There are a few simple things that you can do to make sure that your Macbook is performing at top speed just as it did when you first got it. So, if you have an older Macbook which is not functioning the same as it once did then you can use these few simple steps to get your Macbook back to new condition.

First, one thing you should know is that you should not buy Apple Care insurance for your product, this may seem tempting if you fear running into a problem but it is a waste of money when you consider you are dropping $100 on a plan that will only extend your coverage by one year from the date that your Macbook is already covered without having to buy anything additional.

The most important thing to do is pay attention to your laptop and if it is just loading slower and acting sluggish then this is your hint that your computer may be clogged with information. The best thing you can do to fix this is go to your documents folder and delete all unused or unwanted documents. This will speed up your laptop quite a bit and at this point you should clear your browser information but going to the tools tab and then selecting the option that says "clear private data" with all of the check boxes selected. This will get rid of files that are stored when you surf the net.

From here you will want to go to system/library and here you will see a cache folder with stores files. You will need to delete all of the files in this folder and restart your computer, you will then notice your computer functioning a lot better and faster.
