Flash the Dark
A poem I wrote over a year ago.
"I'm gonna flash the dark." - My nephew right before he was two, on numerous occasions, headed into the coat closet, with a flash light in his hand, when asked what he was doing.
So you're worried about what lies ahead
You want to cover yourself in bed
But who you are is so much more
than the blackness hiding behind the door
You were made with beauty, just right
with a mind and soul that shine so bright
On this world, you will make your mark
So, take your light and flash the dark
