But now that I am in my early 30's I just love remembering the 80's! My children are now watching reruns of the shows I grew up with. My 11yr old loves Saved by the Bell, Fresh Prince and Different Strokes.
Lately I've founds myself reliving the 80's on YouTube. I thought I'd share some of my favorite 80's flashback videos! I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did!
These videos appear in no special order at all:
1. 30 minutes of 80's cartoon Openings - relive your favorite cartoons you enjoyed as a child!! See cartoon openings from: He-man, The Little's, Chipmunks and more. See Clip: Cartoon Openinings
2. Various 80's Commercials - Who doesn't remember these? You'll see 10 minuets of candy , fast food, cereal, toy commercials & more! My personal favorites are the Tootsie Roll lolly pop commercial and the Bonkers commercial. "Bonkers! They bonk you out!". See Clip: 80's Commercials
3. We Are The World (with words) - Watch the We Are The World video karaoke style! Any child of the 80's remembers all the famous people who joined together to sing this wonderful song! I vividly remember watching the making of this on HBO! You'll enjoy seeing stars in their 80's look! Michael Jackson as we all remember him, Lionel Richie, Ray Charles & many more! Look for Dan Aykroyd in the top row! See Clip: We are the World
4. Thriller - Thriller was introduced to the world back in 1983. I was just 8yrs old at the time and I remember sitting up all night long watching what was called "Friday Night Videos" (I think). I wanted to see this video so bad! Our local station refused to air it for some reason! I grew up in MS. A local skating rink that would play music videos on the weekends wouldn't play it either! So I it didn't see the video till I was about 16yrs old or so!! I feel in love with it right away! I think it is one of the greatest music videos of all time! See Clip: Thriller
5. Garbage Pail Kids - My sister & I collected the Garbage Pail kids cards! I remember these kids looking as cute as the Cabbage Patch Kids but they were gross! I found this video on Youtube that brought back a lot of memories! Who knows why the Garbage Pail Kids were so popular but they went on to have their own cartoon, toys and even movie! Check out the video but you may want to turn down your sound. I personally found the music pretty annoying. See Clip: Garbage Pail Kids
6. MTV Early MTV Promos and commercials - Back in the 80's MTV was so different than it is today! I remember cool "Vj's" Video Jockeys, fun game shows like Remote Control & great videos! MTV was THE place for music, news, interviews, fashion & music videos! Here is a video that will take you back and you'll say "I want my MTV!" - See Clip: MTV Promo
7. New Edition "Mr. Telephone Man" - This is one of the first videos I remember enjoying in the 80's. New Edition was an early boy band that formed back in 1980. Bobby Brown was one of the five singers. Mr. Telephone Man is a cute "bubble gum" teeny bopper song. The song came out in 1985 and written by Ray Parker Jr. You will remember him singing the 80's hit "Ghostbusters". See Clip: New Edition
8. Coreys' Bad boy - The Two Corey's held a special spot on my bedroom walls when I was growing up! Corey Haim & Corey Feldman starred in 7 of movies together. Their most remembered movies include The Lost Boys & License To Drive. This video clip is taken from "Dream A Little Dream". What I like about it is that it shows a lot of the 80's fashion like ripped jeans & big hair! See Clip: Coreys
9. You're the Best from Karate Kid - The movie came out in 1984 and was a hit! I was about 8 or 9 when I saw the movie. The movie made me cry and cheer! See Clip: You're the Best
10. Cyndi Lauper Goonies R Good Enough - The movie came out in 1985 & I remember going to see it! What a wonderful movie! I always loved this song from the movie yet never saw the video till I came across it on YouTube! I was thrilled to finally see the video and it is really cool to see the actors with Cyndi! You'll enjoy some of your favorite clips from the movie along with great movie! See Clip: Goonies R Good Enough
I hope you enjoyed this flashback to the 80's as much as I did. I hope it didn't make feel you older but pride from growing up in the 80's!
