FlashFlashRevolution started out as a one game site. It had a game called Flash Flash Revolution (as one would expect). The game has the concept of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) but uses fingers instead of feet. Now the site features five games: FFR (for short), FFR R2, FFR: Resonance/SIMS, Spin it Up!, and MeTrivia.
About Flash Flash Revolution:
To play the game, first you choose a category. There are categories: Dance, Dance 2, Funk, Arcade (video game music), Rock, Classic,Hip Hop, Misc., Skill (you unlock by defeating certain levels of songs),Secret (you unlock those by accomplishing unknown tasks), Purchased (you buy those), Token (you unlock those as well).
Within the category, you get to choose songs. If you click once, you get to see the song's difficulty. Most categories will be arranged in difficulty order. If you click again you start playing.
When you play arrows come down (or up depending on your settings) the screen and you have to try to press the arrow keys on your keypad or numpad at the right time. If you get an arrow right you earn life points. If you press it at the wrong time or not at all, you lose life points. You beat the level by surviving (don't go down to 0 life points). Once you win, you get credits and maybe tokens, skill access or secret access. You can use credits to buy songs at the FFR shop.
The game is single player however you can have challenges and a multiplayer arena. If you use Challenge you wage money against a specific person who has to agree to the challenge. If you don't want to wage losing money,or if you don't have a specific opponent, you can go face off people in the multiplayer room.
There is a low resolution of the game available for those who do not have great graphics cards or a good connection.
About FFR R2:
This version of FFR is a lot more closely related to Dance Dance Revolution than the previous one. The menu looks exactly the same way as DDR menus look like. You first choose a level then a song, however this feature isn't too well done as you can easily pick a song of a much different level than yours. The look isn't the only difference between FFR and FFR R2. Obviously, the songs would be and are different. The life bar is a lot stricter to FFR (and more like the harsh DDR life bars). You lose a lot more life when you do something wrong and gain a lot less when you do something right. The judging is also harsher. If you don't press exactly right on time, the game probably won't recognize that you played the arrow at all. It's supposed to accept slightly off arrows and give lesser points. However, more oft than not it won't recognize slightly late or early arrows at all.
This game is definitely for Dance Dance Revolution enthusiasts only.
About FFR Resonance:
This is technically not a game per se. You do play songs the same way you would for Flash Flash Revolution. However, these are songs created through Sim files by users. That means even you could upload a simfile you created and play the song. You first pick a level, then click on your or someone else's song. Unlike FFR R2, the game does remember what level you picked. Also, the controls are far more responsive and are as reliable as those of the original Flash Flash Revolution.
About Spin it Up!:
Spin it Up! is a far different concept than Flash Flash Revolution. You play with your mouse, not arrow keys. You pick a song and then you are part of this circle. Occasionally you'll see a sort of 'wave' going to one of the four quadrant of the circle. You have to try to get as much of the wave by rotating your mouse to where it is.
The game has a rather high learning curve but there are easier levels. There also is multiplayer.
About MeTrivia:
Flashflashrevolution.com has a featured link to metrivia.com. It doesn't even make it look like it isn't actually part of flashflashrevolution.com. It is owned by the same people.
MeTrivia is a trivia game. You chose a topic you want to be asked questions about and you answer them. There is a timer and 5 options. You can choose how many users and teams are allowed. You can also choose the timer length.
There are 4 game modes:
Normal: You play by yourself or against people and try to get as many questions right as possible
Team: You play against people but you can have teammates. Once again you try to get as many questions right.
Speed: You try to get as many questions right in a certain amount of time
Elimination: If you get too many questions wrong , you're eliminated. Last one standing wins. How many questions you're allowed to miss is decided by the person who initiates the round.
You can also create your own trivia kit.
