Unique Exercise to Help You Flatten Your Stomach While Driving

I know that the title of this article may sound unbelievable after all ïf it is to good to be true, it problably isn't. However, in this acase I am just telling waht Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer, believes after his years of experience in this area of knowledge,

According to Mike, there is one exercise that can help you flatten your stomach. It is so simple that it can be done while you are driving. Of course, you still have to be careful when driving, so if you feel this simple exercise makes you distract from driving please do it then you are at home or at the office.

The exercise is called "ab vacuums". Ab vacuums can be performe anywhere, at any time. You can exercise standing, seated (such as in a car), kneeling in a four-point position, or even lying flat on the floor.

The movement is very simple and implies pulling your belly button in as far as you can. Try to touch your belly button with your spine and hold that position for 10-20 seconds each time you do the ab vacuum.

Here are the details of the exercise directly taken fro Mike's article:

"Start by inhaling deeply. Then, as you exhale, start pulling the belly button in towards the spine and hold it there for 10-20 seconds while just taking short breaths. Repeat for several holds"

He recommends you get the habit of doing this at least 4-5 days per week while driving (again if you fell it distracts you from driving please do it somewhere else). The science behind this simple exercise is that it helps you strengthen the transversus abdominis muscle (that is, a deep abdominal). When this muscle looses tone you get the "lazy belly" that we have seen around.

I have been doinfg this exercise for 3 weks now and I am not going to say that I have a flat stomach yet but I see some improvement. My lazy belly is not so lazy anymore. It seem a little bit firmer. I do the exercise about 4 times a day and in sets of 5 to 10. Some times at the office when I am bored I do 20!
