Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar Presents Frank Family Vineyards Wine Dinner

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar (960 Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire, IL; (847) 793-0333) is hosting award-winning Master Sommelier Fernando Beteta as he pours selections from Frank Family Vineyards at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31.

Beteta is showcasing Frank Family wines, while Fleming's chefs serve up a menu called "The Perfect Pairing"-the first course is Seared Scallop with micro greens and white truffle vinaigrette paired with Frank Family Napa Valley Chardonnay, 2009. The second course is Lobster & Shrimp Terrine with roasted tomato coulis paired with Frank Family Carneros Pinot Noir, 2008 followed by Espresso Crusted Filet topped with a zinfandel & raspberry reduction served with grilled broccoli rabe paired with Frank Family Napa Valley Cabernet, 2007 and Napa Valley Zinfandel, 2007. The dinner concludes with Godiva Chocolate Beignets with hazelnut sauce paired with Frank Family Port NV.

About Fernando Beteta
Beteta, a native of Guatemala, caught the wine bug while working as a restaurant manager for The Dining Room Ritz Carlton (Four Seasons Hotel) in Chicago. He eventually took a sommelier position at NoMI where, as Wine Director, he oversaw the wine cellar that contains over 10,000 bottles of wine.

Named Best Young Sommelier Midwest by l'Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in 2005, 2006 and 2007, Beteta also received the Rising Star Sommelier for Chicago from Star Chefs in 2006 and was named one of America's Best New Sommeliers in 2007 by Wine & Spirits magazine.

Beteta is currently working with TENZING, a Wine & Spirits Distribution company in Chicago-he continues to believe being a sommelier is more a lifestyle than job.
