When I was pregnant with my second child and needed a larger diaper bag, I did some research. I found that there are many bags out there that go beyond the basics. I was looking for a durable diaper bag with lots of pockets and organizational features that would carry everything for my baby as well as my older child. I also wanted something stylish, but I had my doubts that I could find anything meeting all of my wants and needs.
In my research, I came across many brands, but Fleurville was one that stood out from the rest and intrigued me. Fleurville is a company based in San Rafael, California that was created by Catherine and Steve Granville. After they became parents, in response to their disgust in the products available on the market, they decided to make products that combine the durability and style that I was looking for. In this statement from http://www.2modern.com/Fleurville, the Granvilles say, "Our guiding belief is that when people become parents they don't stop being hip or appreciating good things. We want our customers to benefit from our philosophy that a brand and its products, by design, should make users feel good.". I was in love with their philosophy as well as the bags!
The Fleurville bags are so beautiful! They use the most stylish fabric in many patterns and colors. The fabric is coated with a plastic coating to protect it from wear and tear as well as stains. The coating they use is both PVC and Teflon free and they call it Green-LAM. I was very concerned about the bag looking tacky and plastic because of the coating, but it was not tacky at all! They had many styles and sizes of bags to choose from.
I chose to purchase the Fleurville Mothership as the main diaper bag. It is a very large bag measuring H12" x W 14.5" x D 5". The Fleurville Mothership features a padded non-skid shoulder strap, a caribiner key-klip, insulated bottle holder or FOB wrist bag (depending on fabric choice), a changing pad in its own sleeve, a cinch sack and a see-through Fleurville wipe case. The Mothership has three exterior pockets, one on the back of the bag and two on the sides. The side pockets have covers with a velcro closure. It also has three large elastic topped pockets inside. The pockets make it so easy to keep everything organized. I love that my keys are conveniently on a key clip and I don't have to delve into the depths of the bottom of the bag to find them. The wipe box is the first portable wipe box that I have had that does not allow the wipes to dry out. The cinch sack is a handy little bag that you can keep something separate from the rest of the things in the bag. The Mothership also features a magnetic closure for the main compartment. The Fleurville Mothership holds everything I need for two kids and I can also fit my small purse in it, so I don't have to worry about two different bags. The Mothership also makes a great weekend bag or can be used as a carry-on for traveling on airplanes.
I also purchased the Fleurville Escape Pod in a matching pattern to my Fleurville Mothership. It is much smaller with dimensions of H 7" x W 11" x D3". It is perfect for quick trips or trips out with just one child. The dimensions of the Escape Pod are H 7" x W 11" x D3". It comes with a caribiner key-klip, a changing pad and a see-through Fleurville wipe case. It zips open and has 2 inner pockets, one on each side. One of these pockets is clear, so you can see what is in that area. Underneath the other pocket is storage for the changing pad. There is also a small mirror, a handy area for storing pens, two small elastic pockets and a zippered pocket perfect for coins. The Escape Pod can also be used as a toiletry bag.
I also purchased the Fleurville FOB wrist bag in the matching pattern to my Fleurville Mothership and Fleurville Escape Pod . It is the perfect size at H 5" x W 8". The wrist bag is great for carrying a few essentials like a driver's license and credit cards or coins. I use it when I do not want to carry a purse and I also use it to keep my keys in when we walk down to the neighbor's or take a walk. I can slip it in a diaper bag or I can use its strap and carry it from my wrist. It has a zippered closure.
I have been very pleased with all three of my Fleurville bags. I always recommend them to people whenever I have the chance! After using my bags for several years, they look as if I purchased them yesterday! I feel as if they were personally made for me! If I ever have any future needs for any type of a bag, I will look at Fleurville first!
