Flight Attendant Walks Off Moving Plane!

Theresa L.
Was there a time in your life when you wished you could quit your job? Did you ever wish you had the guts to tell that customer where they could go? For one flight attendant, he took quitting a job to a whole new fashion.

Steve Slater, a flight attendant for JetBlue airline finally had enough, after getting into a confrontation with a passenger. ABC news said "one of the passengers apparently got out of his seat to grab a bag from an overhead compartment. The flight attendant walked over to tell him he had to sit down. The two reportedly got into an argument and somehow the flight attendant got hit in the head with either the bag or the compartment door."

From there, Slate got on the PA system and began to direct obscenities at the passenger. He then left the plane via the inflatable evacuation slide. However, on his way out of the door, Slate grabbed himself a beer off the beverage cart.

This is currently the most talked about story with articles from the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Associated Press. What is so shocking about this story is the plane was heading to the gate at the Pittsburgh to New York flight.

All I can say on this story is thank goodness the man made him angry while the plane was on the ground. Had the plane been in the air, it could have been drastic for all parties on board. However, Slate was still charged with Criminal mischief as well as reckless endangerment.

In Slates defense, it is a prime case of ones anger getting the best of them. As anyone that has ever gotten angry knows, when you are angry you do not always think the clearest. Still, that does not condone Slate's behavior, and I highly doubt he will be working at an airline again.

We all quit a job - I once quit cause my son broke his foot and my boss was not going to let me off work to take him in to be cast. People forget that when you work around people it is harder to do. Sadly, you can only be nice for so long.
