Flip Video: Cheap and Efficient Camcorder

Brian Munger
If you are shopping for an efficient and easy-to-use camcorder, then I have the answer for you. Don't go wasting your time and money on a $500 camera that you can't even figure out how to use. If you want a cheap and easy camera, then go ahead and purchase a FLIP video camera. This reliable camera can be purchased anywhere from $100 to $150, depending on where you buy it from. I recommend searching for them on Ebay or Amazon to find the best deals. Every electronics store will have them, too, but they may not be on sale. Even the simplest of brains can figure this camera out. It basically only has ONE button. It's a big red button that is used for "start recording" and "stop recording." To the left is a smaller "play" button, which you can push to view your footage after you are done recording. To the right is a small "delete" button. If you don't like the footage you recorded, or if you don't have any use for it anymore, then simply press this button. That's it! No more buttons! Yes, it's that simple!

It's just as simple if you want to transfer your footage to your computer. On the side of the camera, there is a little "plug" that pops out. You simply plug it into your computer and it will automatically pop up on your computer screen. The program on your computer then gives you easy step-by-step instructions on how to edit your videos and/or make a movie out of them. It even gives you the option to add music if you have any songs downloaded on your computer.

My favorite thing about it, other than it being so simple to use, is that it is very convenient to carry around. It's about 4 inches long and is about a quarter of an inch thick. It's basically the size of an average cell phone. You can easily slide it into your pocket or purse without having to use up too much room.

Obviously, the higher priced cameras are going to have better audio and visual effects, but do you really care? Unless you are making a feature film movie, then you will very content with the results of that this camera produces. It makes for a great camera for a soccer mom who wants to record her kid's first goal. Or perhaps you can use it at a wedding. Or you can use it anywhere else your heart desires! It's so easy, you have to give it a shot. This is one of the few things that I bought and didn't even need to read the directions to learn how to make it function correctly!
