Florida Outpouring Focuses on Evangelism

The Florida Outpouring, that began at Ignited Church in Lakeland, Florida, is now turning their efforts towards evangelism. Every night at 7:00 the Florida Revival continues with Evangelist Todd Bentley and the Florida Healing Revival is still aired on God TV, but in addition to the 7:00 P.M. service, there is a 10:00 A.M. morning service that is only viewable through the Internet stream. Guest speakers, such as John Arnott from the Toronto Blessing, conduct the morning service and the focus has been on evangelism.

After the morning Ignited Church sessions, there is an evangelism team that provides free training to help people understand that the purpose for all revival, including the Florida Outpouring is for the empowering of their faith and to proclaim the Gospel with boldness and authority to the world. This was evidenced on the day of Pentecost, when afterwards all of those who had been empowered spoke boldly about their faith. (See Acts Chapter 2). The teams, after training, go out to places such as Wal-Mart to share their faith, and demonstrate the power of God, and deliver the saving news of Jesus Christ of Nazareth's shed blood on Calvary. The teams have been praying for healing over people, and as has been reported with the Florida Outpouring, the evangelistic teams are hearing countless testimonies of salvation, deliverance, and miraculous healings.

In addition, many people who are being ministered to, both through the revival and the evangelism efforts, are turning away from addictions, such as smoking, drinking, and drug use. There have been people giving their cigarettes to the laborers as they are being impressed upon by the Holy Spirit to lead holy lives.

Every revival should be coupled with evangelism and if you have been touched by revival, then you undoubtedly have a desire to see the lost come to Christ. However, there are many people who are just plain afraid to speak to strangers. When revival comes, boldness follows and believers are equipped with the boldness and power of God and will proclaim the Gospel to those who are listening.

Since many people find that they have been gripped with a spirit of fear, it is only logical that when the Holy Spirit moves, He rebukes the spirit of fear, drives it out, and replaces His people with boldness to proclaim the good news to those who are lost.
