pretenders and idiots to the world.
Terry Jones, According to abcnews.go.com, "A former hotel manager, Jones, who worked as a missionary in Europe for 30 years, took over as head of the Dove World Outreach Center, a fundamentalist Christian church in Gainesville, Fla., in 1996". He is often seen on the church's 20-acre compound with a pistol strapped to his hip. A fan of Mel Gibson's "Braveheart" -- a poster adorns his office walls at the church -- Jones launched an online video series called the "Braveheart Show," which he uses to preach anti-Islamic sermons to an audience larger than the 50 families who belong to the church. (www.abcnews.go.com)
This man, has managed on his own to start a controversy that may end up costing many Americans their lives. Without regard to the consequences, Terry Jones confirmed what the Islamic World has said forever. America is full of people who use religion for personal gain and it is full of liars. Even more reason to kill Americans.
If you watched the video that is viral on TV of him speaking at the press conference and stating that there was in FACT a DEAL with the Iman in NYC to move the Community Center to another location, you had to be thinking, EXCUSE ME, That is NOT what happened! This man, representing GOD, stood in front of millions of viewers telling A LIE! Saying he would NOT burn Korans, IF there was in fact a deal. Which by the way, for everyone still calling this a mosque, it is a COMMUNITY CENTER for anyone, not just Muslim. Which more than likely will never actually be built.
He had phone calls from the White House, Sec. Gates. He had a visit from the FBI, comments from Gen. Petraeus and many more outraged comments from across America. His answer to those things was to stand his ground until the Iman of Orlando came and talked with him. How is this happening? This should have already been a crime. It is not a question of "Freedom of Speech", this is potentially already a crime, if people are hurt because of it. Can he be allowed to do that?
We are at war with the same people he is trying to insult. Does he really believe his actions would be beneficial to the soldiers or other Americans? What would be the point here? I think his point was to get on TV and to get noticed. He thought America would embrace his radical attitude about Islam and he would end up being a hero. Maybe his book would sell. I don't think Terry Jones had the balls to carry out such a crazy plan. I think it was all about his 15 minutes. He has lived that so-called Christian life so long, he has talked himself into believing his is something special. So sad that a clown like this could garner the attention he has. He will get his little boost in reputation, good or bad, and the danger will live on for Americans abroad.
At this point, President Obama should have this man arrested. At the very least, he should be TOLD to SHUT UP. As a matter of National Security, he should be silenced about this particular issue. As people around the world watch, they will judge us on the actions taken here. If the President fails to make a point here, we will look weak to the world. If nothing is done with this ignorant, liar and pretender, America will pay a larger price down the road.
Terry Jones is a phony, a coward and a horrible liar. Him and those like him, are the reason, I do not go to the same church on a regular basis. He is making the Islamic representatives like the Iman from Orlando, shine. How can we continue to hate American Muslims, when they are more upfront and honest than our so-called religious leaders. When our representatives, self appointed or not, act the way Terry Jones has acted, it makes it hard to judge others. It brings home the fact that evil lives in every corner of America. You just have to wait to see where it is coming out of next!
When the Constitution was written and "Freedom of Religion" was put in there, there was not a clause added saying, "No Islam"! We can't pick and choose which religions we want to allow and still stand with the Constitution. Though, when it was written, no one thought of the negative side of any of the freedoms it affords us in this modern America. Too Late.
It would seem we would make more progress with the Muslim world, if we proved we were not the bastards they think we are vs confirming the bad things they think already. Don't ya think?

Amen Jo Ann. I should have said that..darn. Thanks for the comments
Rose, you've made some great points. The one I'd like to drive home is jail. Yes, I think he's committed a crime and they should be reading him his rights about now. He does not deserve any more time on the news.
My second concern would be, how would America react to a Muslim threatening to burn the bible?
